Excellent and easy to use. Highly recommend.. !
This is the best and easiest af home highlighting kit. After struggling to do my own foil highlights for years I decided to try this kit even though I was very skeptical of the cap highlights.. as I had used them probably 20 years ago and didn't love them.I tried this on myself and absolutely love it and it is so easy to use. It only takes about 15-20 mins to pull the strands through the cap. Highlights are thin and natural looking. Tip make sure to brush out the strands of hair after pulling them through, to make sure there arent any knots by the root. My hair base is a dark blonde to light brown and the highlights came out light enough without being brassy.I used this on my sister last night as well, her hair base was pretty dark and it was still strong enough to lighten although a few areas were a bit yellow. Purple shampoo should help that. See the before and after photo. She loved it.

Illuminate without harming
This highlighter leaves a natural, shiny finish. It lightens well without drying out the hair and is easy to apply. Ideal for a soft, luminous look. I would use it again!

Hightlight
Very good product at a good price, I would buy it again. It protects the hair strand.

Good highlight kit
My hair is previously dyed so I was thinking it wouldn’t turn out at all but it turned out to be a great golden caramel color and it suits me well. Very nice easy to use the only thing I didn’t like was the plastic hook that comes with it i prefer the metal hook that comes with other kits. But other than that it was very nice!

All time favorite highliting kit
I have always gotten this brand since I was probably 18 or so.I like how it has the cap inside of the box, and how it ties to your chin to provide a nice snug grip to your scalp where the holes need to be.It has several ways to apply your highlights as well, you can section it off to the front and sides, or do your whole head. It also has an every other hole structure that you can follow to get even and consistent strands all around your head. And if you wanted a ton of highlights you can do every single hole they've punched inside of it.Which is great ! That they give you so many choices on how many highlights you can put inside of your hair. The bleaching kit comes with a little plastic rectangle bowl and a powder pouch along with the developing cream. You'll pour your powder in and the developer creme in and mix with the spatula they provide. Which also has a hook to it and you pull your strands of hair out with the hooked side of the spatula. Some of their boxes had a metal hook and some are plastic.I suppose it depends on which highliting kit you get.You can also save some of your bleach and pour about half of your powder and half of your developing cream if you're doing a small portion of hair for your highlights. Then it will have a plastic cover for after you're done applying your hair and keeps it moist and from drying out.All in all this is my favorite and leaves my hair very lightened and beautiful, it doesn't dry my hair out like others can and has a nice conditioner that helps smooth your hair.

Perfect for brunette to ginger!
I have a naturally medium brown that leans auburn in the sunlight, but I like to intensify the red. Before COVID, I would get my hair lightened and colored in the salon, because every at-home dye kit consult I had told me you can't really lighten hair with kits, just add color. Darn. Wanting to DIY and needing easy, I've been using Overtone and have been thrilled with the results, but now that it's been so long since the salon, my salon-lightened ends have grown out and the red looks less noticeable. Being an absolute beginner and too scared to bleach all over, I thought this highlighting kit might be a good way to dip my toes into hair lightening. I did a lot of research, watched Youtube tutorials to avoid frying it off , and decided on this kit to use for my first attempt. The first picture is my before color. I first did a strand test (second picture) and this is after about 40 minutes of processing time. I was pleased with the amount of lightening, so I decided to keep going. The kit comes with a plastic cap with printed holes on it. You can either use every hole for an all-over look, or every other one for a more scattered look. I decided on every other. There is a little hook included that you use to pull strands out through the cap, so that the hair underneath doesn't get lightened. Well, this is where I ran into trouble. My hair is REALLY fine, and I just could not get ANY hair hooked on that darn thing. I tried for probably half an hour until my husband took pity and said he'd give it a shot. Somehow he was better at it (maybe the angle is easier to get if you're not looking in a mirror? Or he used more pressure? Not sure), so I let him help me pull strands through all the circles. I might need to use tweezers or something next time. You may not have this issue though, if your hair isn't insanely fine and slippery. I recommend using a comb to lightly brush against the cap after and make sure you don't have any tangles or loops that didn't quite make it through.I used a combination of my gloved fingers and a hair paintbrush (don't know what they're really called) to coat the strands with the mixed solution. It went on pretty easily. Then I set a timer and put the included plastic cover over the top. I checked it every 10 minutes, and when it looked like it had processed to where I liked it, rinsed it out. I also did the shampoo and conditioner included, which helped make my hair feel a lot softer.Overall, I really like how it turned out! My hair actually looks ginger just from this kit alone. It looks very natural; my sister who is a natural redhead looks like this in the summer. I'll still probably add the Overtone Copper Kit to help blend it into the exact shade I like though. I'll come back and post the results of that after I do it. If you are going for more true blonde strands, you'll probably need to leave it on longer (a few strands on my bangs processed to yellow) or possibly do a second bleaching. A toner might make it less orange leaning. But this definitely gives a nice lightening effect on brown, and for someone who wanted to go to the coppery side anyway, it's perfect!

Hook broke
The head of the hook broke half way through. I really didn't want crazy light all over hair but, had no other choice if I didnt want to just throw it in the trash. It looks ridiculous btw.

Worked as expected!
I’m a fan & plan on doing this myself again. I used the cap and watched a few TikTok videos for some tips to make it look more natural. (Don’t bring the dye all the way to the top of the cap to avoid harsh lines). The hard part is pulling all the hair through with longer hair. I had to get my husband involved for the back… but he was able to do it. Left it on for 20 minutes bc I was a little nervous but I think that was a good amount of time. I’m happy with the result!(Saved myself 4 hours & $500 at the salon)
