UV Water Filter Purification for Whole House Ultraviolet Light Filtration System 12 GPM 55W 110V 3/4 inch MNTP Inlet Outlet + 2 Extra Bulbs by Bluonics

I bought this item and installed it myself about two weeks ago. So far it is working without a hitch. I can only suggest one thing - I do not recall the instructions stating to not touch the glass part of the bulb - I have been told that the oils from your hands will affect the life of the bulbs. If you do touch it for some reason, use wipe it clean with some alcohol and a paper towel. Beyond that, the directions were very easy to follow. I installed the quartz tube and metal nipples (to get the plastic plumbing away from the UV) inside where it was easy, then just had to hook up two connections and install the bulb under my house where the system is installed. So now it is simply a matter of seeing if I get the expected 12 months of bulb life. This unit is a very good deal compared to many others on the market that are essentially the same. Of course, I also have a sediment filter and a carbon filter for my water (cistern water in the Virgin Islands) before the UV.

Product arrived really quickly. Instructions must have been updated as they were easy to follow and images were great. This assembled without issue and installed easily. So far this looks like a good buy. I will be recommending this to my friends and associates. I say the instructions must have been updated based upon other reviews.As a follow up my neighbor ordered this product and it installed without issue. He noticed that the indicator on the ballast was RED indicating the bulb was not working. I checked it and tried another bulb with same results. On a Sunday I sent an email to the supplier detailing issue. To my surprise the supplier called back within two house (on a SUNDAY) and said he would send another ballast right away. It arrived within two days and fixed the issue - BEST SERVICE EVER.

First off the stainless housing feels solid! It has a nice polished finish and appears to be fairly thick. If I had to guess this is a 300 series high grade stainless steel. The added lights is a welcome bonus. The lights feel light quality lights as well. The threaded fittings on the ports fit standard water heater Flexible copper tubing making it easy to mount and in mount. Would give 5 stars except for a few issues. The plastic brackets had no screws and don't seem to fit properly the diameter seems too large on tube for the small brackets. Second the silicone gaskets work but installing them was a little vague in the instructions. After my first install I had leaks, I realized that the gasket on the open side of the quartz tube was not installed correctly. I removed the tube and adjusted the gasket and no more leaks! So it was operator error on the leak but the instructions were t very clear that the little lip on the silicone gasket should sit off the quartz tube not over it. That's what fixed the leak issue. Hope it helps someone! Overall very happy with this product and knowing I have clean water, I highly recommend it. Also it was about half the price of the one the local vendor had on island, I'm happy with the purchase!

I read several of the reviews and wonder if these reviews were the same product. My package arrived a day earlier than expected. The instructions are very simple to follow. There are seals that worked perfectly for me so I don't understand why the tape or paste was needed. The clips to hang the unit on the wall is designed for lateral not vertical installation but they fit perfectly. When you place the ring next to the tube it looks small but just press the tub in. The arms of the clip spread open and clamp down just fine. The system turned on without any issues. So I am most impressed at this point. I will test the water in a week to make sure the ecoli is gone and then report back.

There is a design fault in the 12 gpm model. the crystal is too short and dues nor contact the o-ring seal at the end opposite the end where the light goes in. As a result the end cap leaks. Called the supplier and they said to use Teflon tape. Tried that but still leaks because Teflon tape is for tapered threads not straight threads whish is on the end cap. Ultimately I used silicon sealant which worked. Poor instructions and poor advice when I called them. this is the second item I purchased from Wholesale Market and both items had issues. The first one got returned. I recommend not buying from them. I am an engineer who works on equipment underwater and based on my experience the crystal is too short so the spherical end does not contact the o-ring where the seal is supposed to be made and water leaks out of the end cap. If you try to slide the seal at the open end of the crystal back to push the crystal further toward the end cap that still does nor work.

5 Star for sure BUT... step two is difficult. Found is easier to do it this way so that the silicon seal does not get distorted as it did the first time for me when I tried to follow the directions as is. What I did was this... I put the seal on the quartz sleeve per step one, then for my step two, I placed the nut over the seal/sleeve assembly prior to sliding into the chamber. This allowed me to KNOW and verify that the seal was in position before I placed it into it final position. I'm sure the step 2 on the directions works but I had a problem with it and this way was easier and reassuring for me.I use a whole house, big blue, two filter system (20-5 and 1 on the second filter). Having this UV system AFTER our softener and filter systems allows us to KNOW our dug well and the water it provides is clean, clear and safe for all to use and enjoy.In our county, this is the ONLY dug well system that will pass the Dept of Health. To sell the house we would have to recondition our well into a casement well and hope it passed or drill and new well and hope it passed and provide enough water or... do this full system. This was a wonderful way to get PURE water. I wish we had done it years ago. Everyone should have clean, clear and safe water... it is truly a blessing we should NEVER take for granted.I bought the kit with the extra bulbs but in hindsight now you wished you had bought the kit with the extra ballast and glass tube I will be ordering this today so I have it on hand.
