Great value, and they work.
I bought these because I needed a headset, and I needed something to put me over the Amazon $25 free shipping minimum. So I bought them directly from Amazon, rather than one of the Amazon vendors who were selling it for a couple bucks less. Maybe that's why I'm not seeing the quality issues and have no suspicion of these being knock-offs. They work pretty good. Everything sounds pretty much as it would from the speaker of my Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch. The bass is good enough on music and videos. Call quality is great. My hearing sucks, but I hear loud and clear on these. People on the other end of the line hear EVERYTHING. If you're eating a bag of chips, the crinkling of the bag will be deafening to them, even if you hold it far away from your body. But at the same time, I drive a small convertible with a lot of wind/road noise on the highway, and it doesn't interfere with the conversation one bit (other than being able to tell that I'm driving). Some reviewers are complaining about the rubberized cord transmitting noise when it rubs up on your jacket or zipper. This is true. It isn't that bad unless you're waving the phone around or jogging or shaking your head violently. If you're sitting, driving, or even walking with the phone in your pocket, it's fairly minimal. And if you're listening to music, the cord noise is less noticeable. The earbuds take getting used to. This is the first time I've had this type of earbud, and I was afraid it would tear easily or get stuck in my ear. It's only been 2 weeks, but I'm not noticing any problem. They fit very snugly and securely. They also block out a lot of the sounds and noises around you. Not completely, but way, way more than iPod type earbuds. The button on the mic answers calls and hangs up. To make a call, you'll have to unlock your phone. One click will take you to your call log, and another will dial the last call made/received. If you hold the button, your voice command app will kick in.Overall, definitely worth 5 stars for the $6 I spent for it.

Price to Quality Ratio is Astounding!!
So I originally got these headphones with my Samsung Nexus S 2 Phone and they sounded decent and had a mic to top it off so I could use them for calls and such as well. After using them for about a month I tried putting them in my ears different ways while sitting at my computer and much to my surprise, the ear-buds are actually supposed to go quite far into your ear (more so that I was doing) and by correctly wearing them I discovered that the headphones sound AMAZING. Good bass and overall quality; I was pleasantly surprised. So after about 7-8 months of using them they got quite dirty and I would periodically clean them but the rubber parts kept coming off in my book-bag and I eventually lost them both and it was time to get a new pair.I assumed they would be expensive since not only are they the ones packaged with the Samsung phone, but they have the phone mic built in and they're brand-name as well. When I saw they were only $5, I was totally suspicious but I just got two pair in the mail today they are the real deal! Best pair of ear-buds under $30 I've ever used and they're only five bucks! AND they have a phone mic! I even use them at work with my PC and with my iPod.

Great for listening to devices *other* than my Samsung Phone
I have a Samsung Capitivate Glide, which I use for music, audiobooks, youtube, oh, and making phone calls. I loved the headphones that originally came with it, but apparently left them at a movie theatre. I was really excited to see that these are the same headphones, and when they came, I was doing a happy dance on the inside. One point to note: these only come with the largest size earbud/marshmallow things. I don't know if my ears are smaller than normal, but I was most comfortable with the smallest size (which, of course, means that the smallest ones were on the headphones that I lost), but I made do. Unfortunately, when I was using these with my phone, I noticed I was getting some static when I listened. The static got significantly worse when I was using the headphones to make a phone call - to the point that the person I was speaking to couldn't understand me. Then, last night (day 2 of owning the ear buds), something kept happening to turn my "media volume" all the way off; I would be listening (I like to listen to audiobooks while I do housework) and suddenly the story would go quiet. At first I was concerned it was my phone, but when I stuck my (unfortunately uncomfortable) apple earbuds in, it was totally fine.I was bummed, thinking the headphones were a total bust. My daughter, however, lucked out - she needed a new set of earbuds, so I gave them to her to try with her iPod Touch - and voila - they worked PERFECTLY! I must say, the sound is really fantastic, and I'm interested to see if we can use them with Skype or something on her phone (it's a second gen, so doesn't have a microphone in it). That being said, my rating of the headphones for use with my Samsung Phone (you know, the use for which they were intended) is a solid One Star, they went beyond being crackly to actually being counteractive! My rating of the headphones for other devices (my experience limited to an iPod Shuffle, and an iPod Touch - completely AWESOME - these really are some of the best headphones I've ever used, and if you have smaller marshmallow things - they're VERY comfortable.

Would buy again.
I was looking for just regular earbuds and that is what these are. They are nicely made and for 8 bucks you can't go wrong. They only come with 1 earbud cover. I had to switch mine out with an old pair I had. With other earbuds I always have the problem of 1 side not working. If that happens with these I'll update.
