I grew hydroponically in homemade container with good results
I have very hard well water but you can use filtered water, reverse osmosis, or distilled water. City water may have chemicals in it that might prevent the growth. I boiled my first batch of water and let it cool to soak the seeds. I've had good luck and my grass is thick and full. I did lots of research on hydroponics before starting. This is how I grew it.I had planted wheatgrass in soil before. I usually gave my cats the planter and they would pull the grass out by the roots and drag soil across my kitchen. I decided to try to grow it hydroponically. I didn't want to waste money on planters not knowing how I'd do so I made my own planter to try first. If you grow in soil, soaking the seeds before planting is probably best.I went to the dollar store and bought 2 matching food containers with lids. When stacked together, I could see there was at least an inch between them. I heated an ice pick in a flame and punched holes in the bottom of one container. This was very time-consuming but cheap. I had to keep wiping down the ice pick with paper towels because of the melting plastic. I had some dehydrator screen and cut one to fit the bottom of a container, for the one with the holes. I measured my screen by placing a container on top of it and taking a marker to draw a circle on the screen. Then just cut it out with scissorsI poured dry wheatgrass seed into the food container without the holes about 1/8 inch thick to see how much seed I would need. It will swell once the seeds are wet. I mixed a solution of 1 1/2 tsp of 3% hydrogen peroxide with 1 cup of warm water and a TBS of table sugar. I made a few cups of this solution. I mixed it up well and poured this solution over my seeds to soak. I covered my food container with the lid tightly and placed it in a dark cupboard (that's important) for about 36 hours and ignored it. Hydrogen peroxide breaks down in light so it has to be put in the dark. That's why it's sold in brown bottles. The hydrogen peroxide keeps nasties from growing on your seeds, helps soften the outer seed hulls, gives them oxygen, and helps to sprout seeds. The sugar gives them a boost of energy. After 36 hours I took the container from the cupboard and I could see most of the seeds sprouting. I carefully poured them into the container with the holes and screen. I gently rinsed them with a not too warm trickle from my sink. I popped the LID BACK ON and then placed that container in the other container without adding more water. I put them back in the cupboard. I took them out TWICE daily and gave them a gentle rinse, covered them, and put them back in the dark cupboard. Make sure you rinse the bottom container with hot water to keep it clean. Just don't rinse the container with the seeds with hot water. You will not see any green while doing this because to turn green they need light. So don't panic and just watch them sprout and grow. After 2 days of doing that, I took the containers out of the cupboard and after rinsing I placed them on a shelf under the light without the lid. I still didn't add water to the bottom container even though I saw a few roots coming out. Instead, I gently rinsed them under a trickle so that all the seeds got a drink twice daily. The sprouts turned green overnight. There was no bad smell or fuzzy stuff growing. I didn't add water to the bottom container until I saw roots growing that could reach down into the water. You don't want the seeds soaking in water. Every day I rinsed the bottom container in hot water to keep it clean.Once the roots started to come down I added just enough barely warm water to the bottom container so the roots would reach. The problem was I didn't have quite enough holes in the container for all the roots to go through. I had to give the roots in the container a drink. So twice daily I still give them a rinse and rinsed that bottom container in hot water. I don't see any dead wheatgrass or have any nasty odor. You can see how thick my grass grew. I know there are other ways to grow hydroponically but this was low expense and worked.I have now ordered some real hydroponic growing wheatgrass containers and a liquid hydroponic fertilizer. I'm thinking I'll just add a few drops to the water so the grass grows faster. I've been growing this over a week but I would like to see if I can grow it faster with hydropic food. To this day I rinse it twice daily and change the water. Every time I look into the water in the bottom container it's cloudy so make sure you keep that water clean. If you don't nasty things will grow in your wheatgrass.

Best cat grass ever.
Best cat grass seed ever! Don’t buy the cat grass kits as the seeds are mix of wheat and rye. My cats only wants to eat wheat grass as it’s thicker and juicer. And does it ever grow FAST! I am talking Jack and the Beanstalk fast! Plant it one day and 2 days later it’s starting to sprout! I have two containers going so when one is finished , the other is ready to eat.

Good quality for the price
These were ways to start. I planted them and they sprouted quickly. It wasn’t hard to do. Just sprinkle in the soil. Lightly cover and water. Be sure to have adequate light and the grass grows really well. Thick and green. The variety is good. Would definitely buy this brand again
