Improves IPhone Recordings. Good Value.
I bought this for my husband to use with his iPhone. This mic & stand, used with the Shure app, improves the recordings made with the iPhone significantly. It's easy to set up and easy to store back away in its case. All of the essential cords are included. Nice outfit.

Perfect for On The Go Video Filming
We run an event company and I use this for our business twice a week and it's great. When you read the instructions it will tell you that you need to download the app. I use to do it that way, but found no difference in the sound quality if you just shoot through your phone's video feature. It comes with the cable that you need to plug it into your found and a mount, but if you want to attach it to your phone you will need to purchase a cell phone rig separately. It's lightweight enough that if you attach it to a gimbal it will still hold it.You can adjust the sound through the app, but I've never needed to. Red light indicator tells you when the sound balances are off or if you're too close to the sound source.Great sound capture - cuts out the background noise behind you. Though it's important to note that the sound capture is a "cone" not a "beam", so it will still pick up sounds next to you, just not behind you.If you were at a concert, this would get a lot of crowd noise around you - but if you're close to a stage or filming something without a lot of background noise, this will absolutely enhance the capture of the sound.

Shure MV88+ video kit is great except for one thing...
I like Shure products, and the MV88+ works well for vlogging and recording voices just a few feet away or across a table. The kit includes a hand held or desktop tripod and all the parts needed to set up an iPhone. I have an iPhone 15 Pro MAX, and the MV88+ has two cables, one for Lightning and one for USB-C.The kit's iPhone holder is a disappointment. Instructions say the holder will accommodate horizontal and vertical positions with a protective cover. Not true. It holds only in the horizontal position without the phone cover; and frankly, it's not sturdy. There is a workaround: purchase the Manfrotto Smartphone clamp, pro version MCPIXI. It works in both a vertical and horizontal position with a cover. It's sturdier, and accommodates the mic at the top; plus it's on Amazon.

Sounds great but soldering broke after 3 years of light use :(
This mic sounds really nice and is super handy for a portable recording setup. Unfortunately today I went to unplug the cable and afterwards heard a little rattle inside the mic. Upon inspection, I found that the micro usb port has broken off of the circuit board... There doesn't appear to be any damage, it just looks like the glue and/or soldering gave up and it popped off. I didn't have to force the cable out or anything, it came out as usual but I guess it was enough to pop the port off. Anyways, great mic but I am super sad that mine broke and I'm not sure if there's any chance at repair since it is past the 2 year warranty.

Works well. Has a very simple recording app.
The mic functions well, but does not capture lower frequencies. I use it for recording Didgeridoo B1#, 63 Hertz playing (as measured on the T1 tuner app). So, I won't be able to use it for quality recordings. It has very short cables and I got a 6 foot lightning to mic.I very much like the simplicity of the Motiv app that it comes with. It has some simple EQ and decibel settings. I can trim recordings. A few other helpful things too. Ultra simple to just set the decibels I want after a few tests and then press the record button.

Best mic to use with iPhone!
This is by far the best mic! I plug it right into my phone and it makes professional sounding recordings!! Love it!!

Recording band practice better than imagined
The media could not be loaded. I was going to look past this since I’ve had this for several months but not had a chance to record since I’ve been injured. I was planning on purchasing a digital 24 track mixer, drum, guitar, and vocal mics to specifically record band practice. Practice was tonight so I recorded all the way through, just to try it out. I listened on the way home and was blown away. I have a sub in my car and couldn’t believe how good quality the bass drum and bass guitar came through. The quality was FAR better than I expected. It picked up the bass drum and bass guitar so we’ll. When I got home, I listened to chop songs up to send them to the guys and couldn’t believe how clear and focused the sound was. No need to spend thousands of dollars when I’ve got this.Regarding our playing, we haven’t playedYes together in 17 years and our bassist was just playing around. This is us, The Hot Rod Davidians, playing in a small room: Moving blankets on the walls, other band’s amps strewn about, and the PA speakers were at the top of the room. Finally, using this mic is all about the placement and adjusting the gain so it doesn’t distort. Good luck!!I leave you with a decent cover of Link Wray’s Rumble
