Golden Girls Forever: An Unauthorized Look Behind the Lanai Hardcover – Illustrated, April 5, 2016

I am a true blue Golden Girls fan and this is the best collection of Golden Girls facts and episodes I have ever seen. I received it as a Mothers Day gift from my daughter. If you are a fan, this is MUST have! The pages are thick and shiny and the photos in the book are excellent quality. I thought I knew everything there was to know about the Golden Girls but this book gave me even more insight. I am particularly a Rue McClanahan fan. In fact, I have visited her son and best friend, held her Emmy award and I even have some of her prized possessions. I have the plate she stole from Sardi's the night she one her Emmy. (She figured if her picture was now on the wall at Sardi's, the least they could do was give her one of the pewter chargers. So she sorta borrowed it and never returned it! :) I also have a necklace of hers, a picture that hung in her office that was given to me by her best friend, after he found out my license plate reads "In God we Trust: Blanche". I now am battling a rare cancer and her son and best friend sent me the gold angel pin that she wore the entire time she battles breast cancer. It is my prized possession! So you can see why this book is something that I am so thrilled to add to my collection. There are so many Golden Girls fans who will love this book. Every single episode is listed, with all the details about the taping of that particular show. It is a great guide when I need to remember what episode one of my favorite lines came from, or if I want to watch a particular episode but forget what season it aired. If you are fan...BUY THE BOOK!

As a forever Golden Girl fan, I am loving this book as it provides more information about the stars but the book moves into reviewing various episodes with more details behind supporting actors. This is a must have gift the Golden Girl fan in your life and a coffee table add!

I bought this on the advice of one of my favorite podcasters, Patrick Hines, from TCO and his new Golden Girls Pod with Jennifer Simard. Like Patrick, this book is interesting and funny and a must!

This is a fun read for fans of this shoe. I recommend.

Overall, this book does offer a lot of interesting behind the scenes tidbits and fun interviews with a plethora of cast members, guest stars, writers, crew, etc., and I think any Golden Girls fan would find it worth owning. It's clear the author is a fan of the show, and did a huge amount of work with research and interviews. The photos and design of the book are attractive.However, I agree with a lot of other reviews on Amazon that mention the book comes up a little short in some areas. The most egregious oversight is not offering episode breakdowns or commentary on each and every episode of GG. It feels arbitrary to select only a certain number episodes to highlight from each season. To not have "The Case of the Libertine Bell" highlighted definitely hurts! Even if the missing episodes could have gotten a blurb, that would have been worth it, because hey, we all have our favorites (that differ from what the author chose). I also would have liked to have read more history on each of the actresses, and a section for The Golden Palace. Maybe less on the drag shows, and quotes from miscellaneous people on which "Girl" they liked best. I'm reading this in a post-Betty White, post-COVID world, and so maybe it's time for an update?

I love the Golden Girls, it has always been one of my favorite shows. This book is very well written, and informative. I enjoyed reading it.

As huge fans of the Golden Girls we love love love this book. So much information!The only con as it were is not every episode is presented when it comes to fascinating facts etc.If you are in any way a fan of the show, buy this book immediately!

There were 7 years filled with laughter, tears, "Back in St. Olaf" stories, and of course....cheese-cake!! The only thing missing was this book!!The golden Girls Forever is packed with hundreds of exclusive interviews, tons of behind-the-scenes information, over 200 color and black-and-white photos, commentary, lots of fun facts and even quotes from celebrities fans telling us why they love the Golden Girls so much!It's a perfect companion to the show!! What else can we say but, "Thank You For Being A Friend"!!
