High quality. Works great to control flies.
We bought this to control the flies coming in and out the back door when we let our dogs in and out. Nice high-quality air curtain. Arrived undamaged and well packed. Seems to work great. The only negative I would give it is the unit is black and looks amazing but the door switch and wire are white. I don’t really like that but if your door framing is white I guess it would be OK. I covered the wiring with a mesh wire protector so it wasn’t an eyesore. If you plan to mount this to brick you better have the right tools and know what you’re doing or it can be a little tricky.

Mostly efficient to prevent flies in the house
My reason for purchasing this unit is to keep flies out of the house. The air curtain came in the original box with another box over the outside. I bought the unit "Used good condition" from amazon and the unit was in good condition but missing the switch. Amazon support does not have an option for having a missing part sent but does have an option to return it for a refund but I chose to keep the unit as it is fully functional and the total price for including shipping was just under $139 thus I felt this was a great value buy. I placed the unit in my garage door just outside my kitchen and there was an outlet in my garage that was reasonably close to power the unit. I ordered this Gagalor2 Sets NO&NC Magnetic Switch Door Contact Sensor Surface Mounted from Amazon for $8.37 including tax. Link to magnetic switch: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BMFZQK6T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The magnetic switch mounting and wire connection was fairly simple and straight forward. You simply divide the yellow wire and connect the ends to the common and N.O. leads. When the door opens, the unit then powers on. It took about an hour to install the unit, mount and wire the magnetic switch. As expected there is a small time lag of approximately 1 second before there is a sufficient air flow when the door is opened. There is also a gap of 4 inches in the middle of the fan that has no or minimal air flow. Between the small gap and the time lag of powering the unit, it is not 100% efficient in keeping flies out of the house but it is certainly better than before. I suppose the efficiency would improve if the door is cracked open 1" to activate the circuit before fully opening the door but I don't always remember to do this, especially if I am in a hurry. My wife and kids would never do this so I chose not to even try to instruct them to pause 1 second before fully opening the door. It is my opinion that the small gap in the middle with the lack of air flow is less of a problem than the extension lag but I have no real proof. Overall I'm very pleased with the product as the mounting wasn't too difficult but would recommend placing new holes in the bracket to mount to a stud or two. I would recommend this unit. Be sure you have sufficient clearance above the door for the unit.

It May Need A Minor Adjusment...
The media could not be loaded. I bought two of these air curtains. A 36" and a 40". Installation is fairly straightforward. I added a new circuit to the house for the two new outlets that would be used. That was the hardest part. I mounted the 36" unit in the garage and the 40" unit above our back door, in a covered patio area.We bought these to help with flying insects. We have 40+ chickens and flies are a constant battle. Bug-a-salt shooters work once they are inside, but it is getting tiresome! Both fans move a lot of air. I am very pleased with the performance overall. We held the door open for a few minutes, numerous flys attempted to come into the house and turned around. I believe one fly may have actually made it through. But these are phenomenal results. Time will tell how much of a difference they truly make with the kids running in and out.The fan turns on quickly when the door is opened and it runs for about 3 seconds after the door is closed. Another review said they thought it didn't turn on fast enough. Personally, I think it is just fine.I would like to note that both units made a "weird" noise after they turned off and spun down. The 36" unit makes a dull tap/clicking sound. I have not figured out what is causing this, but it's not loud enough to warrant looking into (see uploaded video). The 40" unit made a louder, whirring sound as it spun down. It was unacceptable as is, so I took the front cover off and found a black bracket with a rubber cover was touching one of the squirrel cages (picture attached). The bracket was in between the two squirrel cages and looked slightly bent when compared to the other side of the bracket. But I was able to bend it out of the way with some channel locks. After doing this, it spins down silently and I am very happy with it.Overall I am very pleased. I would recommend these if you are handy and are ok with possibly troubleshooting a minor issue.

Not as loud as expected, plenty of airflow on Low.
Appears to be well-built and operates well. You can tell it's an equality machine. The switch is separately made in China, and although one of the parts wasn't included (the long screw), I ended up using my own anyway. Otherwise, the switch itself seems to have pretty decent quality components as well. For mounting, it took 20 minutes, and another 15 minutes for the switch, including figuring out where to place it. The switch has a normally closed and normally open option, so you can have it set up so that if you want it on when something's closed or you want it off when something's open, or the reverse when something's open. If you want it closed or normally open (i.e., when you want your fans to operate), those options are all within the switch.Plenty of air movement set to low on high. It is noticeably higher; however, once inside the house, you can barely tell, but it certainly seems to operate. This is about 8 and a 1/2 feet in the air and hits the ground pretty hard with air.
