I think it’s working
I have no way of verifying accuracy because I’m not getting my dog’s progesterone checked at the vet either (it’s expensive and delayed with the lag, so that’s the reason I got this kit). But I *think* it saved me $1000. I was paying to ship semen from a stud dog overnighted to me from another breeder. We had arranged it would happen on Monday, since overnight Fedex couldn’t work on weekends. During that weekend, I tested my female twice a day. Her measurements quickly peaked on the Friday and came down gradually after that below 200. Per the directions, under 200 is no hood for breeding, so we must have missed the insemination window for this ovulation. It did seem to match her behavior, as I have a neutered male that humps her on cue for ovulation, and he was very excited prior to the weekend, then quickly lost interest over that weekend. I guess she had a short cycle this time… it’s a pity, but at least I found out in time to cancel the shipment (and I was lucky to have an honest breeder who refunded me the $1000). Next time, only doing in person AI. And I will be measuring and charting her with this instrumentation earlier. It wasn’t too difficult to use, so long as you can get your dog to stay still for it. Make sure you clean it off carefully and maintain it to prevent infection and keep precision. Seems like it was worth the money so far!

I love it
Great product I love it. Kept me from guessing on when to breed my dogs. Once you learn the chart and numbers. It beats going to the vet for PG test every other day.

Does not work.
Doesn’t work. Inconsistent readings.

Works well
This works well only if you insert it correctly and bring the handle up level not just staying hung down. Used this to test on two different dogs to find their peaks for breeding and when they start to decline. Started from day 2 of the dogs heat cycle and saw declines by day 17.

Super easy
There are instructions inside, it's a book... You have to put it in the female as soon as possible to figure out her baseline. Put it in at an upward angle, pointing to her spine. Rotate the device in 2 full circles in your hands making sure to keep the prong inserted. Then pull the trigger. There is a graph on one of the last pages of the instructions that tells you about the levels and what to do.The way I read it is after the value peaks and starts dropping is when you inseminate. Be aware, my female climbed to her peak and then lost 500 points in 24 hours. It happens fast and once she starts climbing you need to check more than once a day.First try, 1 insemination, 10 puppies.

Not what was expected
Not what we were looking for, sold it on marketplace. Went back to using the testing via a Vet to get an accurate date.

AMAZING PRODUCT
very simple to use. Did the first test on day one and was doing tests every single day. day 5 the numbers went up and two days later went down to 400, i followed the chart and i knew that was just a fouls pick. after day 7 number went back to 1800 1900 and two days later on day 9 dropped again to 400... she was ready. It was my first time doing using this test machine, so i did progesterone test as well and it was right on the money. two day after the second drop she was 10.5ng/ml, I have one more bitch getting in heat today and im starting the process over again.

Easy to use!
I purchased this tool to hopefully make breeding my bulldogs much easier. I have 30 yrs invested in my program. We recently experienced a failed breeding attempt and I've decided to experiment with "science" in the near future. So far, I've taken base readings of my females just for an idea of how low they are when not in season. I have one young female in heat now, and her numbers register just as the instructions said her numbers should be! My tool arrived securely packed in its own toolbox, and my dogs barely noticed the probe being used. I prepared bowls of delicious food for them and took readings while they were eating. So simple, and easy to use.
