Are these safe in a wildlife pond with rare newts and frogs. It's overrun with slimy green weed

I remove the Blanket weed by winding it round sticks and pull it out. I won’t disappear by it’s self. I would think this pond weed would be safe in any pond.

My pond froze recently my weed is still ok unlike my floating surface plants....
