Exactly as expected. I used it to hang an old phone on our wall. Functional and easily set up.

I've gone retro, getting rid of battery operated phones and putting back touch tone units, wall mount and desk type. This is an excellent product, the phone wires can be attached easily with the screws on the terminal board, and if needed because the spot you might mount it has wires going in and out, another line can be attached to the extra set of screws on its way to the next phone outlet. For those who say the landline phone is too restrictive, you can get a coiled cord right here on Amazon that is 25ft long. And the real handset is a lot easier to hold on your shoulder with your head than a cell phone.

Purchased in October 2022. I've done a good number of these, and many more jacks for computer networking. The wall jack I received has screw connectors, just like the photos and descriptions at the top of the page. But later down the page it has a photo of a model with punch down connections, even though the written line next to it states it is a screw down model. Further down the page a written description states: "Stainless steel cover with quick-connect, punch-down wire connections. Four color-coded screw-down connections." Make up your mind! Perhaps they ship both depending on what's in stock.While it is mostly stainless steel and sturdy, the plate where you connect the wires (screw or punch down) is plastic--and pretty flexible. The screws are tight to the point that others have complained they are frozen. Installation tip: place the plate on a table or counter top to loosen those screws first, before mounting the device to the wall. That way you have a hard backing if you need to lean on it. If you have enough slack wire, attach the wires and tighten the screws while the device is up against the wall adjacent to the final location before mounting the device to your junction box. If you mount the device to the wall first, then have to press hard with the screwdriver to loosen or tightening the screws, you risk flexing the plastic to the breaking point.Once wired and mounted, it is a sturdy mount for your wall phone and should last many years.

Even tho a phone will probably never get plugged into this you have to keep the old stuff looking good. Good product, Not as stout as the original but still good.

Leviton has always offered good hardware. It replaced a 50-year old similar socket that finally fell apart. I was pleased to see a very good replacement.
