The Charlton Arrow #1: First Issue Collectors Edition Paperback – July 7, 2016

The fine folks at Charlton Neo/Arrow brought me back to comics...After many years of reading comics I had gotten bored or burnt out on them...but then I found the Charlton Arrow Facebook page and had a blast learning from and talking to the people involved.I read this first issue with hope and was not disappointed...Everyone involved with this book infused it with all the fun, wonder, and excitement I remembered from reading comics when I and the world were just a little younger...The book wears its heart on its sleeve...and that is a great thing.

Nice to see some of the more obscure Charlton characters getting some attention and there is a great line up of comic talent behind this, but the printing was a bit shoddy, some pages were printed off center and were hard to read and some funky coloring issues.A god idea and I do want to try other issues, but if the quality doesn't get under control then it's not worth it.

If you're a fan of solid comic anthologies. If you find yourself with a smile when you hearken back to the days of comics from the silver and bronze age... Smile away today by ordering this e-version of The Charlton Arrow #1. Super clear formatting and reproduction. Zoom works great but wasn't needed on my Note 3 cell phone to read and enjoy. A lot of fun from classic comic book talents who continue to find joy in making comics.

This is the way comics SHOULD be, done with great love and respect for those that came before. In these days of grim-dark anti-heroes, it's refreshing to see FUN comics. You don't see comic anthologies much anymore, which makes this book all the better. It's a smorgasbord of veteran and new talent, with stories hitting all the genres.And to think, this all came about from a simple Facebook board.

Good comic book, kinda hard to find...
