Do the cards fall out ?

No. The product zips up all the way around except the spine, which is solid. Think a really small book with a zipper. If you are speaking when it is open? I imagine they might if you turned it upside down, but I am not sure why you would do that. It would also depend on the size of the card I suppose.

What are the card slots made of? Plastic or fabric?

I continue to say how wonderful this card is! The slots are a stiff material feeling fabric like. Opened up it fans out so all cards stand out with just the tops visible. This makes it so easy to pull the one out you need. I highly recommend it but my innovation was to take off the chain leaving the large ring. It is so easy then to put finger through ring and zip open and closed. Dollar bills can also be folded either end so no need for a separate wallet! Excellent!!

How many cards does it hold?

I love my little card holder! It holds 12 cards with space either end for folded dollar bills. When unzipped the cards stand up a little above their pocket. This makes it super easy to remove. They also fan out slightly so very easy to see the one you want. I removed the chain and attached the large ring to zipper. This makes it real easy to unzip. An excellent product!!
