Easy to fit.
Possibly a little pricey for a self adhesive rubber grip, but although small in size it transforms the handling of the camera, giving a more secure grip and a more confidence. For the price of the camera though, Sony should include one of these in the box.

Transforms the ergonomics of the Sony RX100 VII
This is the part that was missing from the Sony RX100 VII. It completely transforms the ergonomics of the camera: the difference is night and day. It is very easy to fit and - so far, anyway - shows no signs of coming unstuck. If you have already coughed up the startling price of an RX100, the little extra for this "missing" part is well worth it.

Perfect... But not for all RX Series.
I bought these for multiple models of the RX100 series. It fits the Mk1 like a glove... and the Mk2, Mk3, Mk4, Mk5, Mk6... But for some reason, I don't like it on my Mk7.The curved part of the grip doesn't seem to fit so well against the shape of the Mk7. It looks and feels like it could catch quite easy, like when trying to put it in a camera pouch, or in a pocket. So, I removed it. And when I removed it I could see on the adhesive strip that part of it had not made contact with the camera.Could have been a defective grip. I don't know. But I've decided on a JJC anti-slip hand grip instead for the Mk7.

A little expensive - but good value
The product is perfect, attached easily and stays rigidly in place. It’s a little expensive for the size but given that it helps prevent a very pricy camera from falling, is well worth the money.

more essential than optional
Bought this for my (new) RX-100 in 2016. It changed the camera from being quite difficult to hold securely, to providing a solid grip. The alternative was a fitted hard case, but the two solutions were mutually exclusive and the front flap of a case would tend to be a nuisance when open. So I opted for this.Sony really ought to have fitted -- or at least supplied in the box -- such a grip when manufacturing the RX range of cameras. My RX-100 camera, complete with this grip, is still in use.

Just buy it, it is exactly what you are looking for to improve the Sony RX100
Very impressed, actual Sony grip in a Sony marked box, followed the instructions and it fitted perfect without any issues. The camera had heavy use on a 2 week trip to the USA and it works perfectly. No issues with it peeling off etc.It improved the feel of the camera and made it much easier for use on handed.I attached it to a mk3, but sure it will fit other versionsYes I would Recommend

Essential item
As many reviewers have said - once this is on your camera you will wonder why they didn't just design the camera with a grip already! It makes the camera so much easier to hold and for a little camera this does make a difference. The only downside is the high price of such a small thing. However, I would say just do it, it makes the camera so much more comfortable to hold and you will appreciate it.

Seems like a good idea but........
I bought this even before my camera had arrived as I had read reviews that it was a must for gripping in one hand. I have a couple of DSLR cameras and I like the grips that they have. The item arrived quickly (Thanks Amazon!) The box is a little bit overkill and a large instruction booklet for such a simple item doesn't do much for the conservation of trees but it is a Sony branded item and I guess they have to justify the cost for what is basically a small block of shaped rubber with some sticky stuff on it (OK that last statement should come with a disclaimer, sorry Sony I am sure it is precision or cutting edge). It looks and feels good but here is the problem..... I haven't actually fitted it to the camera! Why?, I hear you ask? (or not as the case may be!) Well, I also bought a nice custom fit leather case to stop my camera from getting scratched (Like you do!) and there is no way the camera would fit in the case if this was attached. Some reviewers have suggested that the rubber can be attached to the case (hmm! doesn't work for me).So, nice idea Sony but please make a case that also accommodates this nice (I am sure very high quality) attachment.
