SUPCASE Beetle Defense 9.7 "Inch Black – Case for Tablet Case/Case, Apple iPad Air 24.6 cm (9.7 Inches), Black)

From the outset, this case is exactly as described and does not disappoint. I bought this Supcase for one specific purpose: I have MS and one aspect of my condition is that I have very poor 'fine motor skills' - numb hands and almost no dexterity in my fingers, amongst other problems.My wife bought the iPad mini for me, neither of us realising at the time that I simply could not hold the smooth shiny 'thing'. (The whole world has gone touch screen, which leaves those of us with sensory impairments right out In the cold [if you're listening Apple], but that's another story for another day!)After researching as much as I could and reading various reviews, I plumbed for the Supcase. I had originally intended to buy a Catapilar' (CAT) case as it was chunky-looking and - for me - 'grip-able'. The Supcase is better looking at half the price. Also I did not want the kind of case that folds, book-like, into a support etc.When unpacked, the Supcase display a little note referring you to view a short video on Youtube, which are in fact the 'how-to-install' instructions. This is simple and clear, and I, with my numb fingers and hands, was able to do it within a couple of minutes. The acid test here, was that once installed I realized that I had left the internal protective plastic film on the back of the clear screen, so then had to take the case off again!. This was not so easy, for me, and there was a fair bit of cursing. This is not a negative thing as is shows how firmly the Supcase hold the iPad - it won't come off easily - and how strong the case itself is. Having removed the plastic film, I clipped the Supcase back around the iPad and all was well.This is a great product as it protects my iPad, and I can hold it comfortably and easily. And if I can do that numb fingers/hands anyone else can with no problems.The case is sturdy plastic with a dense rubber surround, with a clear screen over the actual touch-screen of the iPad. I can now use my iPad with ease.Great product, for a great price! I thoroughly recommend it! Cheers!SECOND REVIEW:After a couple of years of constant use the plastic screen cover developed a couple of small cracks, and with regular cleaning and wiping I noticed that detritus was building up around the edges where I couldn’t reach with a cloth-covered fingernail.I elected to open up the case and give it a good all over spring clean. Coincidentally I had just read that other people were dissatisfied with the clear plastic cover for various reasons, not lying flat, creased etc. Although I never had those problems with my clear cover, I decided it might be time to carefully remove it and replace it with a JETech glass screen protector.This was a MISTAKE as the JETech glass is a complete waste of money because of the bubbles and the dust it magnetically attracts which then form more bubbles. Utter garbage!The SUPCASE is as brilliant as ever, sturdy, robust, easy to hold.I thoroughly recommend it!!!

This case was fantastic, I bought 2 (this one and one for iPad Air 2) and they protected my kids iPad's so well. They lasted over 16 months before they broke due to a lot of use, drops etc...I used to clean mine in the dishwasher (top shelf) as my kids were 4/5 at the time and it got covered in food and sticky sweets. The inside is felt lined but I took a hair dryer to it and it dried in quick time - good as new.Good value for money, wish there was a 2 year guarantee like with Otterbox but never mind ( I guess I will have to buy a new one :-) ).

Great quality, fits the iPad really well.Has a built in screen protector to stop your screen from being scratched-This is unfortunately not very hard and does pick up scratches with hard use, however if you actually take care of your iPad this will not be a problem for you.Has taken a few drops and knocks and both the iPad and case have come off unscathed

Slimmer than a griffin survivor it makes for a more elegant package while still tough. I bought it for my old iPad mini so that my 2 and 3 year old could use it. Fits perfectly, buttons work nicely and no problems swiping in from the edges. Seems tough enough and is holding up.***Only problem is that the picture represented the IPAD MINI 3 version with Touch ID and this is the normal version with a rubber cover over the home button. This is fine for the use I got it for but means that I don't feel confident to buy another for my new iPad mini 3.***Overall a very good product and worth the money. The only thing that could make it more useful would be an integrated stand, although that might ruin the sleek lines and offer more chance of breakage.

Really happy with this case. Bought as our ipad mini screen was previously damaged by using a protective leather case with a magnetic flap type cover. Big mistake as it left about a 2 inch band across the screen where the magnet damaged it, screen had perfect picture either side of the damage but multicoloured band exactly where the magnet had been. Anyway repaired ipad mini and bought this case as it looked sturdy but stylish and no magnets! It took a bit of getting on as the plastic is quite tough and I wouldn't want to take it out again in a hurry, so make sure you line everything up right first time and that the screen is very clean etc. Once in the case its the business and the whole family think its great!

This is a very sturdy case and I have no doubt that the plastic / rubberised edges will withstand some punishment. The case fits well and is easy to install.Firmly in the 'cons' column is the very cheap feeling plastic screen protector. It doesn't sit tight to the iPad screen so 'bounces' when I press the keys, it is very cheap and flimsy already has dents and folds in it which reflect light and altogether detract from the sleek and high-quality feel of the rest of the case.All in all, I'd give 4-5 stars for the actual case, but the screen cover is worth 2 at best and really lets down an otherwise high quality and effective product

We had a mini ipad that wasn't being used so decided to let our 16 month old use it to watch peppa pig and the like. Obviously if it was an unprotected ipad it would soon get busted so I decided to buy this case as it was very reasonable in price.It came really quickly and is a very sturdy item that fits the ipad perfectly.The ipad in the hands of our daughter takes a fair bit of abuse, dropping on the floor, standing on it, bashing it onto the radiator etc and this case just soaks it all up without any damage to the ipad or even a mark on the case.It's a really chunky and sturdy bit of kit that will provide a good level of protection

The media could not be loaded. Always use Beetle Defense for all our iPads and iPhones. This one was a replacement for our nearly 6 year old Beetle Defense case which protected our kids ipad so very well. Perfect for usability and protection.
