Best little 100 mm vice for the money.
I spent a lot of time looking for a vice to go on my bicycle work bench, and this one fitted the bill and was the best at this price point. It was easy to fit with M 10 bolts, and was greased well and operated nice and smoothly. Seems to be nice and sturdy, not too heavy and should perform all vice related tasks with aplomb. I am going to make some aluminium jaw protectors for it, as it's main use will be for bicycle builds.

The media could not be loaded. (I paid for this myself and I have no connection to the seller/manufacturer.)For the price I'm very pleased. Of course I'd love a Fireball Tool brand vice (best vice in the world as far as I know) but that's well over a grand before even getting it shipped from America. 😬 But a boy can dream.I paid around 40 pounds for this irwin. And for that price this is by far the best I could find. Plus it's an actual name brand that have been producing vices for many many decades... rather than one made by "OOJYBOOJY7" or whatever. 😅This has no swivel which is exactly what I wanted. The swivels are a major weak point on many vices - both in just being able to lock properly and as a point of breaking when used hard.My previous vice was a huge 6" jaw one and the swivel was very poorly done. And you'll see this in many other reviews and in YouTube destruction tests too.Trust me. No swivel is the way unless you can afford to spend a lot more. I'd imagine 99% of the time you can just walk around the vice as needed.. or move the work piece.I'd actually much rather spend 80 pounds and get two vices with no swivel and mount them in different positions. . rather than one vice with a swivel.I've been hitting this little Irwin vice today with hammers and so far it's fine. The anvil is small but worked okay for flattening a small bent piece of sheet metal. The jaws close parallel to each other (not wonky). There's a tiny bit of sideways sliding motion right at the last millimeter which I assume is a very small imperfection inside the mechanism that I could fix easily. But I won't bother because it doesn't affect the usage in any way. Honestly this is surprisingly well made for something at this price and even compared to higher priced vices.Do expect some possible paint damage from shipping. But whatever that's not a big deal.It has three mounting points which is fine. There's much bigger vices with only three points of connection. (However I've seen a couple vices with only two points which is not good enough - having at least three points is essential for a solid connection)Strangely none of the images online showed the third connection at the back so I wasn't 100% sure when ordering. But I saw several other Irwin models did so I assumed it's fine, which it is.All three connection points are open slots (rather than just holes) which should allow for some adjustability if your drilled holes aren't perfect or if you're trying to get the vice inner jaw perfectly in line with the edge of the work bench like i did - this can be great for additional stability of large work pieces. When it's perfectly in line with the desk edge you can also add a clamp at the bottom of the work piece for extra stability (for example when holding a long piece of wood or metal). And I've seen people mount two vices in line with each other for this exact use as well - to hold very long pieces.Opening and closing is a bit gritty. Might just need a clean and grease inside. But it's easy enough that I can do it with one finger in 10 seconds which is better than I expected at this price and is more than good enough.Comes covered in oil which is normal for tools like this. That's to prevent rust. But you should wipe this off. - Especially if you have pets so they don't get oil on them (machine oil and petroleum products in general can be toxic to pets). You can see I added some silicone bits under the vice because I'm trying to reduce the vibration noise for my downstairs neighbor. If you don't have this issue then there's no need for silicone/rubber bits. I also added soft material under the whole bench but it's actually too soft and causes the bench to wobble so I'll need to find something better.I hope that helps. Don't hesitate on this. It's a killer little vice and vices are incredibly useful.Just get it. Or I think there's a larger Irwin as well for a bit more money.

This is a good indication of the efficiency and quality of the clamping ...
This is a quality vice by a reputable company for the price of a lesser quality product. I rated this vice 5 star for four reasons1. The price of under £40 including delivery.2. The weight of the vice. This vice is quite heavy for its size, is very robust and looks a quality product in terms of the engineering.3. The jaws move in and out parallel to each other to ensure an even clamp along the total length of the jaws.4. The clamping mechanism is smooth and the jaws clamp tightly even when using one hand. This is a good indication of the efficiency and quality of the clamping mechanism.I am very pleased with this product and would recommend this vice for most if not all DIY jobs around the house.

great value
A solid vice, only used it for light work, does what it should. Build looks like it is up to the job. Good value

Well made.
It’s a good quality, heavy for its size, well made vice. I’m very happy with it.

Solid 4" vice
Vice arrived well oiled and covered in plastic so needed wiping down before use.I attached the vice to my bench using M10 coach bolts which were very snug but just fit.A good sized vice, not too big and not too small, suitable for a range of tasks.

Sturdy good value vice
Worth noting up front the vice delivered is not completely identical to the one in the picture. Nonetheless it appears to be both substantial and sturdy. You could spend a lot more, and you possibly should do if you want a vice for your full time job or work, but for most amateur engineers/mechanics this will be more than good enough. It is certainly a better vice than some of those on offer in the £20 - £30 range and a better bet than the Record entry level vice. Time will tell but on first impressions I would definitely recommend this vice.

Handy vice.
Well made small vice which is used regularly in the workshop. Grips well. Used to hold quite large pieces of work,so doesn't have an easy life. Bolt the vice down well and can't see why you wouldn't get years of service from this unit.
