UniBond Re-New White 80ml

I am very impressed with this tube of magic, after trying different ways to make the sealant in bathrooms and kitchens better, I have before always resorted to having to completley remove and reapply. Its time consuming and to be honest the finished effect not so good. I like DIY, but it is not my strongest talent.The Re-New Silcon Sealant has made me look like a pro (well near as I could get)Its simple instructions and actually sounding as if it was easy, gave me the confidence.I still doubted my skills, so did a strip at the back of my bath that has a large bath pillow to hide the disaster in case of that happening.I used a cream cleaner to wipe the old sealandt and a good Dettol mildew remover at first. This is recommended and worth the time and effort. to thoroughly. I ensured the sealant was dry as instructed and then for the renewal process.You do apply the Re-New on top of the existing sealant and I was at this point worry that where bits had come away or were uneven it would show, it did not! . You bring the tube towards you, his is actually the reverse of what I expected to do and it is way easier to steady that way. The Unibond logo needs to be facing you as wellI could not believe how simple and instantly effective it was, I immediately did the length of the bath and I was rewarded with a nice neat line, it says on the instructions that you can go over the sealant again, but I found no need to, then it was just a case of wiping off any excess, to be honest there was hardly any. So pleased have I been I have been sealing all old sealants. Its lovely to see the clean whiteness. Also knowing that damp is stopped as no cracks for water to get behind.I am so impressed definitely a five star product, if I can use it and well, anybody can!

I bought this to try and cover up some dodgy bathroom sealant that was forever looking grubby with the occasional spot of mould in a bathroom that's always humid, and I really couldn't be bothered to arrange to have the sealant replaced entirely.In terms of the finished result, this stuff looks good. With some practice, you'll get a smooth, clean-looking result that is difficult to distinguish from the original white sealant, even if you only touch up patches rather than going round the whole bathroom. Having said that, it's only really any good for straight, unobstructed lines. I've some sealant that runs behind a tap and the bottle is too unwieldy to get behind the tap, so I ended up having to take a DIY approach with a butter knife to apply the sealant to that difficult spot.However, to get there, you may need to practice a little. The applicator allows for a smooth finish but it takes some getting used to - you'll need a couple of tries to figure out exactly how much pressure to apply to the bottle, and the speed of movement. Consistent pressure and a smooth, steady movement along the join is key - otherwise it'll look splotchy and require a lot of clean-up. I'd suggest arming yourself with plenty of paper towels and doing a couple of short test runs, then immediately wiping it clean, just to figure out the ideal pace and pressure.All in all though, this is a good product. Leave it to dry for as long as you can - I left mine overnight - and the results should hold up nicely. I used this a month ago in my bathroom and it's still looking great.

Does exactly as said on the description. We used masking tape to make the lines neater as on our first attempt we found it wasn’t very neat. After using masking tape it was very easy to use and created smooth lines. The colour is a perfect white and has made the sealant in our shower look brand new. Doesn’t have a strong smell. It take a good day to dry fully

Very expensive for something that provides limited quantity. The guideline(?) more trouble than it's worth. Very disappointed

Good product. Has sealed the leak around the shower,dries quickly and easy to useSeems to be lasting well after 3 months use.

I loved the idea of this product - and if Unibond actually tested it and made some adjustments it could be a great product.But it is not - I have just finished trying to use it, and I was motivated to write a review even before I've finished cleaning up the mess.It is a simple set up - and close to being a really good product - but it's a disaster in its current form. It has a nozzle with a small hole to let the sealant out one side of a shaped guide that you use to run round the corner you are sealing - the hole is supposed to supply fluid and provided you keep the guide against the corner and keep squeezing the bottle - what could go wrong? Well a few things that make the product a nightmare:1 when you squeeze, even gentle, the nozzle comes off the bottle on one side so that sealant comes out of the gap between the nozzle and the bottle and not the hole - you get loads of it everywhere. The bottle top seems to have an awful design where there is very little to hold the nozzle on, so it having come off, I found it impossible to get the nozzle to stay on properly for the rest of the application. (I ended up getting large amounts of gunk everywhere including on my hands trying to hold the nozzle on to use it2 the instructions are squeeze gently. That's all very well when the bottle is full, but what about when it isn't? Squeezing gently has no effect - you have to squeeze harder - which exacerbates the problem of the nozzle coming off; and when the bottle it about half full I struggled to apply enough pressure to the bottle to get sealant to come out of the nozzle even with both hands - trying to use it in position running sealant around a neat edge - impossible.It is very hard to believe that Unibond tested this product (other than perhaps with a full bottle for a few seconds) before selling it.Do not buy - unless they bring out an improved version.

Why did you choose this product over others?:I really found this easy to use, and I’m not super skilled or anything.. Bathroom looks brilliant after use. Def will re purchase.
