Best vacuum for dog hair ever. Actually designed for dog hair.
This is a great machine. I have a husky mutt who sheds a ton. I always buy “pet vacuums” and I’m always badly disappointed. This vacuum lets me know why. If you have a long tube between the floor and the storage container is not a ‘ pet hair’ vacuum. It just takes one small leaf or scrap of paper sucked up and that starts the plugging, which becomes tighter and tighter packed. This vacuum has a very short distance between the floor and the dirt storage container on the vacuum. Very little plugging up but when it does get plugged—which they all will eventually,—you just push a release tab and the tube separates on one end so you are left cleaning out a 5or6 inch tube. Piece of cake. The vacuum has plenty of suction and I can clean a 3 bedroom home on one battery charge. I use this baby daily because it is easier than a broom. I’ve spent much much more on vacuums but I’ve never had one this effortless to use. It is very well thought out. Oh and the larger base is zero problem when lifting or maneuver this vacuum. I frequently vacuum my bed— god I hate dog hair— and I have no difficulty lifting it. ( I’m 75). Love how it just sits up by itself. If it broke tomorrow I would order immediately order a new one. But I’ve had this a year and it works like new.

Good ol HOOVER!
We already own a Dyson V15 detect, BUT we have always had a second vacuum for quick fast clean ups. We had the prior model...now I can't think of the name...but after many years it died and is no longer made. I grew up with HOOVER vacuums so for me it's almost a sentimental thing too :) This vacuum works GREAT overall. I had seen many reviews even videos where the brush would stop if you end up going over different length carpet?.. We have had zero issues with the brush stopping be it over plush, short...or even a nice wool area rug. Brush has zero issues, and it does NOT collect hair! I wanted this Hoover mostly because it was one of the few vacuums where you can just use the suction, and turn the brush OFF over say...wood flooring. In the end...We ended up not using that feature as the brush doesn't scratch OUR wood or vinyl floors....just use the brush on low to medium power. Two things I am not thrilled about. One is the head is not really suitable for stairs. It seems connected only by plastic tubing. I did see reviews where that tubing ripped...and I would imagine if you constantly pick up this vacuum and let the heavy head part just be suspended by the plastic tubing, over tome that COULD be a weak point. Second gripe is the battery. It is NOT bad...but for such a a large looking kinda heavy battery, battery life is not GREAT but it is pretty good. We like the machine has lights as you vacuum, like that it can stand up without leaning it or using some sort of mount like the Dyson. Overall it's a very NICE vacuum...esp if maybe just suing it more for quicker clean-ups or you don't have OCD and need every millimeter cleaned. The Dyson V15 is perhaps in a diff class, but it's also very heavy and a bit of a pain to use, and twice the price.....so GO Hoover!

I GOT A LEMON
First of all, I have owned 2 Hoover Linx vacs. I bought one in '15 and one in '16. Understandably, one of them died but I do still have the one. Eight years is spectacular for a battery powered vac. I searched and searched for the Linx which is no longer available. I imagine this is the upgraded version of the Linx. When I took it out of the box, the instructions said to push the handle into the vac opening and push down till it clicks. I pushed as hard as I could but never did hear a clicking sound but I thought as hard as I pushed, it should be ok. I also charged the battery. When I tried to turn the vac on, it would not come on, despite trying several things. I googled for trouble shooting but never really found anything. Customer service is only available M-F, 9-3, despite saying 9-6 on the instruction sheet. Also, the instructions said there are "no serviceable parts" to this vac. Hmmmmm. After all that, I thought, this thing is going back. We had to figure out how to get the handle back out of the vac. To do that, there is a small hole in which you place a small screwdriver. Pushing into that hole releases the handle. Once we did this, it must have "seated" the handle so it worked! I was very happy about that UNTIL I went to turn it off. It would not turn off despite pressing the on/off button numerous times. I had to remove the battery to shut it off. By this time, I am totally burned out from fooling with it and have decided to send it back. I'll look for something else. The Hoover Linx is the best stick vac ever made, imo. It worked like a charm and the filtration system was very easy to disassemble. After every few uses, I'd take very everything apart and wash it. I see many people happy with this model, but it did not work for me.
