Great
I just got the tapo door/window sensor. I'm not a tech savvy person so I did have a bit of trouble pairing the device to the hub. But once I got it set up it worked exactly as expected. The app is very easy to use. Keeps a log of when my door was opened and shut. I set up notifications and i do get alerts on my cell phone when the door is open. I set the hub to alarm when the door is opened but you can customize when or if you want alarm to sound when your door or window is opened. I agree with the other reviews. The alarm on the hub isn't very loud. I'm using it on my attic door and the hub is plugged into my bedroom a few feet away. I'm planning on getting a sensor for my front door so not sure if I'll hear the alarm on the downstairs hub very well from my bedroom. Even though im using it as a security system It really isn't a real security system. so it's good for what it is and better then nothing. I recommend it and plan on putting these on my patio door and windows to.

The sensor halves can be within 1 cm of each other and work just fine
This is a pretty basic item in terms of functionality. The Tapo product does its job and does it well. When installing it, keep in mind that the two halves don't have to be nearly touching to work properly. The magnet is strong. If you get them within about 1 cm (0.5"), the door (or whatever) will register "closed". This will save you screwing up the one supplied set of mounting tapes. I put my first set on too close-- now I have to be careful each time I close that door, lest the door sensor halves collide and the door doesn't shut.

Works as intended but needs a better ring
Easy to install. The included adhesives hold steady and so far the battery life has worked. Note that you do need a Tapo hub (H100,H200, or H500) to make this work and pair it with the Tapo app. The setup process guides you through each step. You have the option of customizing this with triggers such as sounding a bell or playing a custom sound from one of your Tapo cameras. This alone is where I believe the product falls short. For having the hub play a sound when a door or window is open/the sensor is activated, you are stuck with choosing a predefined set of doorbell sounds. There is no custom sound option, only to shorten the sounds already had. The workaround to this is if you have an indoor Tapo camera. Then you can make a trigger to play a custom recorded sound when the sensor detects the door or window is open. All in all, great if you are in the Tapo ecosystem and do not mind these minor shortfalls. If the battery life goes close to a year, I will consider this a solid investment.

Tapo Door Sensor: Reliable Smart Home Lighting Control.
The Tapo Door Sensor resolved my smart home lighting dilemma: motion or door sensor for smart outlet lights? Motion sensors may turn off lights if I’m still (e.g., reading), while door sensors need the door ajar during brief absences. I chose this door sensor with Tapo app scheduling for my study, using regular LED bulbs on a smart outlet to control non-smart lights. Motion sensors suit high-traffic hallways. My ‘nightlight’ automation dims Tapo bulbs to 1% at night with a delay, guiding restroom trips. The required H200 hub doubles as a Matter hub, supporting other Matter devices. Absolutely reliable so far!

Paranoid military brat living alone
Love this! I grew up with family in the military but like the “I think someone is following us - we need to lose them and take the back roads” kind lol. This keeps my mind at ease and is handy for when maintenance somehow doesn’t close the door all the way…. They know better now lol

TAPO is the WAY TO GO! Automate your Life like you're Rich, but quietly on a Budget.
Tapo has quickly become one of my more favorite smart home brands with their wide range of feature-filled gadgets for affordable pricing. Everything is easy to use and I've had very little issues with their reliability. These door sensors follow that trend! I open a door, the light switch goes on within a second or occasionally two. Provided, these do require a hub but that takes a load off your router, so it's preferred! The battery life has been so good, that even when the app claims a battery is getting low, I continued to use the sensor for over a month or two without interruption.I am a bit sketchy with their security, or potential lacking of, considering Tapo descended from Kasa which both are owned ty the questionable Chinese-owned company, TP-Link. I've heard of instances where these communicate with Chinese IP Addresses. Who knows what information they send back. That's a risk with many things in today's technology... The best way to set these up is to have them on their very own network, isolated from everything but their main API. I've used the Kasa/Tapo brand for the past 3 years and I've never had any issues!
