I’m really impressed with this security strike plate. It’s much thicker and sturdier than the one I had before, and the difference in quality is immediately noticeable. My old plate wasn’t holding up, especially with the wood behind it being rough and worn, but this one fit perfectly and gave the whole doorframe a much more secure feel.Installation took a bit of work due to the condition of the wood, but once it was in, I felt a lot more confident in the door’s ability to withstand force. really improve your security in an older building. Super quality, dimensions exactly as specified. Probably took less than 30 minutes to install. You will need 9/64 drill bit, a chisel, a screwdriver, a hammer drill/driver. I am female 80 years old I did this myself.

The door plates are quite nice, but the screws, even though they are stainless steel, are not very good quality. I bought three of these plates for my exterior doors and even though I pre-drilled all of the holes, half of the screws striped out. This required me to go to my local hardware store to buy more to finish the job since I wanted to maintain the stainless look. It was because of this, that I knocked one star off the review.

Looks great and very easy to install, I highly recommend drilling some pilot holes first, instead of just using a power driver and turn in the screws, I think that's how some people snapped the screws, I used an 1/8 drill bit. Now I can sleep a bit better at night. Thank you!

Sometimes you need to remove the old striker plates. I like to put this over them for extra strength. I was able to do that with one door but not the other,needless to say uh they work great
