I hate having to lace up taller hiking/work boots and the side zipper makes this an easy slip on/off effort each morning when walking our dog at the beach. Been wearing daily for the past month in sand, rocks, dirt, ice plants, you name it. Higher sides over the ankles help somewhat with stability and keeping sand/fox tails off of my socks. Very comfortable and light (light weight materials might impact durability but would be a worthwhile tradeoff given how comfortable they are). Have worn these for several hours/4-6 miles at a time without any issues. Haven't encountered any issues with side zipper as noted in other reviews. If I can get 6-8 months of daily use I will definitely purchase another pair.

Side zipper would explode open constantly. Every time I bent over for work, zipper would come open. Not functional at all as work boots! Don't waste your money.

The boots had a broken zipper when they arrived.

The break in period is about 10-15 hours so west then a few hours during a week or two and understand that these are boots. Very comfortable and easy to maintain. Get 3M or mink oil for waterproofing and allow to dry for 24-48 hours before you actually need to wear them. Highly recommended.
