Q: Is there a standby button on thhe remote

Yes, you hold button 5+second's to activate feature which lights on unit , standby same 3.seconds all lights show then cancel but the moment RC is Engaged unit goesback to previous setting and second "pressing" will be exactly where last viewed and all settings resumed.

Q: Will my ps4 (not a slim) work with this sound bar ? can i connect tv and ps4 ? my tv is a sony bravia but the hdmi is not arc

Hi Mr N, You can connect this sound bar to your TV with an optical cable -since your TV's HDMI port doesn't support ARC- and adjust the needed settings on your TV then connect the PlayStation 4 to your TV via an HDMI cable.

Q: Looking at this for my tv, daft question is it mains operated?

Yes it is. I sent mine back though as I wasn't impressed with the sound quality. Currently using a set of computer speakers which are much better.
