I was a little apprehensive to buy this with some of the reviews that it comes unfastened. I installed for the instructions. Had no problems. It did not release with pulling on it. I got my meter out and I put 45 lb of pressure on it and it did not release. I'm not sure the people that left reviews had defective product or installed incorrectly, but mine is perfect on a Shoei RF SR helmet. THIS IS THE SECOND ITEM THAT I BOUGHT TO REPLACE THE D-RINGS WITH RATCHET TYPE FASTENERS THE OTHER ONE WAS GARBAGE. THIS ONE WAS 45 LB OF FULL STRENGTH I DON'T SEE HOW THIS ONE IS GOING TO JUST COME APART. WHEN YOU PUT THE SCREW IN WHEN YOU PUT THE SHAFT THROUGH THE STRAP BY THE D-RINGS YOU MIGHT WANT TO PUT A LITTLE BIT OF THREAD LOCK ON THERE TO MAKE SURE THAT IT DOES NOT COME UNDONE THAT'S THE ONLY WEAK LINK THAT I FOUND THAT SINCE YOU CANNOT TIGHTEN IT THAT MUCH THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE SCREW HAS THREAD LOCKER ON IT OTHER THAN THAT I'M SO GLAD THAT I CAN USE THIS STRAP ON MY HELMET AND NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THOSE D-RINGS.

These are awesome! I bought two to try, then a third, then a fourth. All my family's helmets now have these installed. Much easier and quicker than using the stock D Rings. Will definitely buy again!

Easy installation and Easy release if/when needed.

so far so good, bought the two-pack, installed on two helmets. one is a full face road helmet and the other an offroad/mx helmet. really don't thinkg the style of helmet matters but both are brand new but different brands. the chin straps on both have the same, normal style with the two d shaped rings and the little plastic button to keep the excess strap temporarily out of the way. the ad says that the plastice buttons aren't a problem. one of my helmets, that was the case. the install went well and it functions well. the other helmet, the plastic button was just a little thicker and got in the way a bit. i was still able to install but not as smoothly. it seems to function ok after.

I sent an inquiry to seller through Amazon messaging and called Amazon customer service because I didn't want to just return it I wanted the manugacturer to be aware of the danger and rectify problems before selling any more. also very poor installation instructions, although it's simple. my message is below:"I have installed your quick release buckle and if I pull hard on the chin strap the indented black catch part of the buckle comes out of the red detention latch. This is very dangerous for a helmet retention system. what is wrong with this latch? I have a request for a review of this item and would like to hear from you first."I never received a response to my inquiry. dangerous buckle! I have 2 from another company that work fine.
