Best totally waterproof jacket I have ever worn

SIZING: The sizing is slightly smaller that the size indication. I generally wear size S. This is a just ever so slightly smaller version of an S. This is a Autumn/Winter jacket, meaning you will wear a warming layer underneath it. Consider a size larger than you normal size is my advise.PRODUCT: This is fisherman style jacket. The colour is vibrant. It is more workwear, but works as urbanwear too. It has no zis, just buttons on double flap.QUALITY: Very well made. Good hood and pockets.

Properly waterproof. Very yellow so don't expect to hide in a crowd! Fits perfectly. No zip; just poppers. Perfect and a fantastic price.

I work with an outdoor volunteer conservation group, in all weathers, and this jacket is just what I was looking for. Perfectly keeps me dry. I am a woman size 10 and agonised over what size to buy. I finally went with the M, and it is just right, roomy enough to work in but doesn’t swamp me. I think a S would have been too small.

This wasn’t for me, I think it’s really a workman’s jacket. It has press stud fittings and is quite stiff. It’s probably tough and might be ideal for working outdoors but it really isn’t a leisure jacket and I sent it back. I wasn’t aware Helly Hansen made workwear, knowing then for ski wear etc. I returned for a refund and should probably have read the description more carefully.

Having tried the lighter Helly Hansen rain jacket called Moss, I decided to try this thick "plastic" jacket and finally I have a jacket that will keep me dry when driving a motorbike in the UK. The Moss jacket lasted roughly 20-30 minutes before water started to penetrate. With the Mandal jacket, I am bone dry even after several hours. The looks are certainly so, so, but it does the job very well. One star deducted because it has no zipper, only buttons. Not a big problem, but it takes a bit longer to put on.

I have found this raincoat to be 100% waterproof. The hood is not quite a good fit and a little awkward at times, but 100% waterproof even in heavy downpours.

Great over jacket for working in the rain. No heat retention so does need a layer or two underneath, but genuinely keeps out wind and water. Fits well but sleeves are short compared other jackets
