Installation easy but also easy to install wrong due to Amazon photos; rail is excellent - 4.5 stars
I decided to order this bed rail because of the fabulous reviews and the fact that it looked like it was easy to assemble. It also had a streamlined and sturdy look to it that I am attracted to. In addition, the current price of $37.98 ($39.98 minus 5%) plus tax seems reasonable for this. This comes in six parts that have to be assembled not including the strap and screws. At first I was extremely confused by the assembly due to the diagrams on the parts list. I then went to the Amazon site and reviewed the "adjustable heights" photo and things became clear to me. They need to redo the parts list to have it look like what is on the Amazon site and also include this photo in their user manual. Nevertheless, after that review, I found assembly to be a cinch but I still installed it wrong because I had the high side of the top rail facing toward the head of the sleeper when it should be facing away from the sleeper. The "additional storage pouch" photo on the Amazon site shows things facing the wrong way. For instance, the handle is facing into the bed when it needs to be on the outside of the rail and the high side on the top rail is facing the head of the sleeper when it should be reversed. All this confused me. In addition, the manual did not clearly show the installation for this rail. The only other confusion I had was the washers and screws that were in the side handle. I originally thought I had to remove both the washers and screws and put it on the other side of the bed rail when screwing in the handle. That is what I did at first but when it didn't look right, I had to change it. All I had to do was remove the screw only and hold on the washer while screwing it into the other side. So basically, the washer stays on the handle side itself which is not what I expected. There is a safety strap provided that supposedly goes around a box spring or bed frame. I DID NOT install that for four reasons. First, my mattress is so heavy that this is not something I can do by myself. Second, the rail is secure enough without it. Third, not having this strapped down makes the rail easier to relocate. Fourth, I doubt the strap provided is long enough to go around my box spring and bed frame since I have a king-sized bed.POSITIVES- It is easy to install BUT see NEGATIVE.- It is a streamlined and sturdy rail rated up to 300 pounds.- The small footprint and ability to have a long extension makes it easy to relocate and move around as long as the safety strap is not installed.NEGATIVES- The manual installation is incomplete and should really have better pictures and more instructions per my paragraphs above.- It is very easy to install this wrong and have the top rail face the wrong way (high side instead of low side toward sleeper when it should be reversed) and not realize that the washers remain on the handle-side of the handrail. The reason the low part of the top rail should face the sleeper is to make it easier for the person getting in bed to not have to swing their feet high above the bed rail bar.In summary, this is a very small bed rail that is a cinch to assemble once the ""adjustable heights" photo on the Amazon site is used as a guide and one realizes how the top rail should face. As of this writing, one should ignore the "additional storage pouch" photo on the Amazon site as it has the bed rail installed wrong both in the top rail and in the handlebar. This rail is small enough to relocate and very sturdy, especially on a king-sized bed with a heavy mattress. I love everything about this and am very happy with my purchase.UPDATE - I love this small bed rail so much that I ordered another one and installed it on my chaise lounge (see photo that has the doll's heads in it). This is absolutely great for those times when a small grab bar/hand rail is needed to get into and out of bed or a sofa or a chaise. This time installation only took me about eight minutes.

Great bed handle
Bar is easy to assemble and very sturdy!Really like the stepped handle, easy to grip and use.The additional enclosed strap to secure the handle to the bottom of the bed adds to the overall stability of the handle.Excellent quality.Would recommend!

Safe for seniors.
This piece of equipment has been a godsend. It’s very useful and helping me get out of bed. I recently fell and it was on the floor for about a day almost 2 days before anyone found me. I was told I could’ve died and that really surprise me. It really shook me up too so. I recommend this piece strongly, especially with the rubber handles. Stay safe.

Easy to assemble and sturdy
I've been using a WAVE Bed rail for several years and have been pleased with it but the large tubular loop-shaped base has definitely taken its toll on the underside of the mattress. The Xentrawave Dual-Bar Bed Rail for Elderly Adults caught my eye as the under the mattress rails are FLAT, not tubular. The order arrived the next day and the unit was easy to assemble, even for me with severe arthritis. I opted to set it up with the lower handle towards the head of the bed and also put the horizontal handle on the inside of the unit, facing the bed. What a difference this Xentrawave Dual-Bar Bed Rail has already made after only one night! The taller handle helped keep me more upright when getting my legs on the bed and the horizontal handle made turning onto my side so much easier. In the morning, using both the taller and lower handles helped me pull myself up to a sitting position and swing my legs over the edge of the bed. The small storage pouch is perfect to hold cell phone, small pill container, lip balm and a few wrapped ginger chews in case of middle of the night heartburn. All in all, I have nothing negative to say about the Xentrawave Dual-Bar Bed Rail and certainly feel like I've already gotten my money's worth from the purchase.

Wonderful help to get in and out of bed!
this is a must if you have trouble sitting up after surgery. We love it and couldn't do without it. Plus, it's smaller and doesn't take up as much room as other styles. Stable, easy to assembly, sturdy, dependable, soft to the touch.

Perfect and surprisingly sturdy
I'm getting prepared for back surgery and needed something to help me install and out of bed. I was nervous about how strong and sturdy it would be not being connected to the ground. I haven't put on the strap yet but even without it I am able to pull myself up easily. It's very stable and the price was more affordable than the others I looked at.

nice unit, but....
basic framework works great. Helps me get out of bed with little back pain. Problem is there is a side handle which would be great to have, but the first one I got, the side handle was too wide to fit in the bolt holes in the main frame. No amount of fudging with the framework would get it to fit...Amazon was nice enough to send me an entire second unit to replace the defective part, and lo and behold, the same issue...I am happy with the product b ut I would be 5 stars of happy if all the parts fit and IK had that side handle....
