Dragon Grips 13 pc Rectangle Grip Tape, Synthetic Rubber, 0.5mm x 0.5mm, Bicycle, Dirt Bike, ATV, UTV

I recently swapped out the Otterbox Symmetry for the Otterbox Commuter case on my S8. I knew from reviews that the hard ABS plastic shell of the Commuter may be slippery, and that was confirmed when I started using it. Definitely potential for the phone to easily slip out of your hand especially pulling it out of your pocket, so I was looking for a simple solution short of just getting a different case.Grip tape came to mind, but the main concern I had with any sort of tape was the ability for it to adhere well to the ABS plastic and not peel up on the edges when repeatedly going in and out of my pocket. So it had a to have excellent adhesion and also low profile to minimize potential for snagging on anything. The finish on the plastic case is also kind of rough so that was another concern that may make adhesion a challenge.I ran across these Dragon Grips and they seemed to fit the bill. With good reviews I figured it was worth a gamble. I just needed a couple strips on each side of the phone where it contacts my palm and fingers. Here's how I applied the grips:1. I found the strips were a little wide for the edge of my phone, so I used a razor to trim about 1/16" off the width, and scissors to clean up the radius. The grips are easy to trim to fit.2. I cleaned the ABS plastic generously with alcohol to remove any dirt and oils. I also wore gloves just to keep things clean and not get any oil on the grips when applying them.3. I position the grip and lightly set it on the surface thinking I could move it around as needed to get it aligned, but found the adhesive to be very strong and instantly stick! This was promising to see it stick so well to the hard plastic. Luckily I had it in the right place on my first try, otherwise it may have been a pain to get it re-positioned. So make sure you get it right on the first try!4. I applied pressure with my fingers all over the grip and it seemed to lay down nicely, but I also hit it with a heat gun (150F recommended heating temp) while rolling a sharpie around the edge of the grip to get more pressure and ensure the edges are all stuck down, especially with the rougher surface. Heating and rolling really seemed to make it better so I recommend it.That's it! I am very happy with the initial results and very happy how well the grip adhered to the plastic. I don't anticipate there being any issues with the grip edges peeling up but only time will tell. The grip is thin and not very noticeable on the case, and doesn't look like an 'add-on'. If I didn't know it, I would assume the grip is how it came from Otterbox.Oh, and as far as the grip goes, it's a game changer! Just having the two edge grips on the case helps tremendously and I don't think I need anything else, though it would be easy to add a larger piece across the face of the case for even more grip.Overall I am very happy with the product and it will be interesting to see how it holds up but I am optimistic. I didn't get this idea until after, but if I did it again I would use a longer piece on the edge and cut it into a more custom shape (following the angled edge of the case - see my pictures). But it looks good enough for now!If I do have problems with peeling, I do have some others ideas to maybe get a better result to prevent peeling. One would be to mask off the area where the grip will stock, and use fine sand paper to smooth out the rough surface of the case. This would help the edges lay down even better. And going even further would be use a dremel (maybe a sanding drum bit) to almost make a relief that the grip sits in. This would be tricky and depends on the thickness of the case, but if it was possible it would make the grip tape look even more seamless and custom! Another idea would be to maybe use an epoxy made for ABS to place a very thin bead around the edge of the grip, nothing noticeable but enough to fill in any gaps around the edge of the grip.Excellent product!

Worked great for about 4 months.. then the one my thumb rests on started to move around. Worked great for those 4 months though.

Works for the intended purpose.

So far exactly what I was looking for-I was looking for something to keep my POM OC Spray secure in my front pocket. The clip on the POM OC is good but it was too smooth and kept sliding off- this product has worked great! Really impressed- I can say the POM OC spray is now secure in my pocket- difference was night and day! I can’t give any review on longevity as I just installed today but I’ll update this review if it’s terrible-This was perfect for my needs and I’m looking forward to seeing what else I can use them on!

My new Samsung phone is the slipperiest I ever handled, so I was desperate to find something to make the handling more secure. After considering friction tape, I hoped Google would find something for me, and that result led me to Amazon.The little package contains plenty of cutout grips ready to stick on the phone. I peeled off five in different shapes and sizes, applying two to the back, two to one side, and one to the other side with all the buttons.Although the grip surfaces are textured, they are not tacky, so there's limited added friction -- just enough that the risk of dropping my phone fell significantly. After some use, the adhesive on one side grip failed, so it was discarded. All the others are firmly attached.

So, I have a Pixel Pro 9 Fold that is slippy on the edges. I hoped to buy a product that I could cut in thin strips to put around the edges.As soon as this product arrived I was prepared not to like it. What I wanted and expected was a rubberish, tacky sort of product. This has more of a hard plastic-ish type of feel. I decided to try it anyway and was completely pleased and satisfied with how this product gives me the gripping surface I was looing for, makes my Fold easier to hold and easier to open. The bumpy surface works as intended.For my purposes, this product works perfectly.

These are... garbage. When I first purchased them they seemed amazing, but 2 months of use has the adhesive loosening and the strips are moving all over my case. They are useless past a month or two and are not worth the money.
