Great for a small family, couples or single person.
It’s great! I held off making my review till I was able to use the food processor which works so perfect and comes with so many different ways to use that with the slicing tool. It does take some getting used to you to not like over. Blend your stuff in the food processor. And it’s much larger than I had anticipated so just so you know it’s definitely not small. The blender itself is excellent. I thought that maybe getting a smaller picture would make it harder to make smoothies for my family, but it ended up being perfect with nothing leftover so for two adults and one child I can make a smoothie that can for everyone exactly. No leftovers. It’s really easy to use. I wouldn’t say it’s affordable, but the value for the money was great because I really wanted a food processor so the only thing is that the little handle for the stick for the blender it’s made of plastic and it doesn’t really lock in so it comes off really easily but I feel like if you’re not moving your blender a lot it should be fine. Everything else is great. I mean it’s a Vitamix. It does what it does. I’m grateful to have one after having my ninja foodie for so long like there’s some programs that it doesn’t have, but I feel like it was definitely a good upgrade as far as my smoothies are so much better. 5:-.

Quality machine
Performs great, has lots of power and has the best warranty of any blender I viewed. Although it is a bit pricey, I am glad I bought a quality made in USA machine instead of a cheap made in China machine that does not last.

The pinnacle of blending!
I've been hearing about Vitamix blenders for many years, but have sufficed with far cheaper options and kept having to replace them or repair/swap out parts for them. I finally had the chance to try out THE name in blenders, and I'm beyond impressed! This blender makes smoothies and frozen drinks that rival any made with food service equipment, and give the smoothest and most evenly blended drinks that I've ever had from home, even when I used large ice cubes instead of my nugget ice. This blender quickly and efficiently pulverizes even the thickest of frozen fruits and ice chunks to make creamy frozen drinks that stay homogenous and don't separate the icy layer from liquids as the drinks rest. The blender is very easy to clean with the self-cleaning function, something that I've never had on any of my blenders, including the OtherName blender that broke after several years of infrequent use and shortly after the warranty expired. The food processing attachment is also quite impressive! It slices veggies and grates cheeses more evenly and efficiently than my last food processors, and gives much more appetizing and consistent results.I like how the blender has programmable functions as well as operating by my manual input. I very rarely need to use the tamper, but it does come in handy of things in the blender get stuck to the sides. This blender and food processor system replaced a no-name blender, and a Bee and Dee food processor and hand mixer system powered by a stick blender. The latter was okay- but it's underpowered, the stick was finicky to operate, the food processor was not good at its job, the many many parts of the system took up so much space in my kitchen, and it was a hassle to assemble anytime I wanted to use it. This blender system takes up less space and is far more capable than the Bee and Dee, and the power of this blender is miles above any other blender that I've used. This blender system takes up less space than the two others that it's replacing, and it fits into my small storage availability well, and I strongly feel it is worth the space it takes up. The motor is loud, but any blender or food processor will be and this one doesn't have a disturbing screech or whine in the motor's rumble as my last two blenders did.I am very happy to replace my other blending and food processing systems with this Vitamix. It suits my needs much better, it's easier to assemble and operate, it takes up less space, and the power of this system is a force to be reckoned with!Vitamix Ascent X2 SmartPrep Kitchen System with Food Processor Attachment, 48-ounce Container with SELF-DETECT, Shadow Black

The Humvee of Blenders Does It All
I have a blender and a food processor and have noticed some of their limitations and when I saw the Vitamix Ascent X2 SmartPrep Kitchen System available here I grabbed it. You see, I'm a cooking enthusiast and I know the difference between foods prepared when there are compromises due to limited equipment and the same foods prepared when using professional equipment. The Vitamix processors are to ordinary popular priced blenders like the Humvee is to an economy car. They're big and brawny with power to spare. They back it up with a 10 year warranty and these blenders do things that most can't. As a test I made perfectly creamy all natural peanut butter, Fluffy and smooth Hummus B'Tahini and Smooth, Rich Broccoli & Cheddar soup.Things like perfectly smooth and creamy peanut butter requires a lot of power so most popular priced blenders can't make it. Don't get me wrong. They can grind peanuts but they're limited to how fine they can grind it. It usually comes out grainy and the oil separates quickly.. The Vitamix blender can make it creamy & smooth like Skippy but with no additives, hydrogenated oils, trans fats or added salt, only fresh roasted peanuts and a little flavoring if you like (I like a dash of maple syrup in mine). The trick is to blend it beyond what a popular priced blender can manage. But where the average blender finishes, the Vitamix blender is just getting started. It's faster and has more torque and can power its way to this ultimate creaminess. I was kind of nervous to push the Vitamix that hard, but it's made for it. It heats up and is loud but it's made to take it.Then I made Hummus. The trick to great hummus is to achieve the smoothness and the fluffiness. I make it Middle Eastern style with a significant amount of sesame tahini and for me that means starting with chick peas, sesame seeds, a whole pealed lemon, some spices and a little olive oil then blending it into oblivion. The Vitamix handled it with aplomb. It produced the smoothest fluffiest hummus I've ever made.Next I made broccoli and cheddar soup to test out the hot soup preprogramming on the Accent line of blenders. The X2 provides 3 preprogrammed routines that make it very easy to use and the one that interested me most was the hot soup routine. Prepare the ingredients, load the blender and then let it loose and after 5.75 minutes you end up with piping hot, serving ready perfect soup. Again only a few ingredients. Steamed broccoli florets, milk, stock (either vegetable, chicken or fish), chunks of cheddar cheese, and some spices. I also add some sautéed onions and carrots but that's not necessary but it does add to the flavor. Load it all into the blender and start the soup routine. Less than 6 minutes later you have hot, smooth soup.Next I made some smoothies using the smoothie program. Load it up and let it go. As someone once said, "set it and forget it". It's programmed to do all the work for you.Vitamix also provides a self cleaning cycle. When I was finished with each all I needed to do was put a few drops of dish washing soap, fill the blender about halfway with hot water and set it for the self cleaning cycle. 35 seconds and I've got a very clean blender that just needs to be rinsed out.Having the food processor attachment is also great. Using the same blender base with that incredibly strong motor makes for a powerful food processor too. I've used it for preparing salads and I also tested out my Hummus recipe but I prefer to use the blender for that. It has enough torque and speed to create a good vortex, so it blends the ingredients beautifully.I'm very impressed with the build, the materials and the power of this machine. It's big, industrial looking and the base is very heavy. It took me a few days to gain confidence in its capabilities. When I would crank it up to full speed, it got loud and would vibrate, so I got nervous that the motor would burn out or the blender would somehow fly loose or other feared results but it wouldn't. It's made to endure that heavy use and they back it up with a 10 year warranty. I'm now very comfortable pushing it and it's taken my cooking to the next level. It comes with the 48oz blender, the 10 cup food processor attachment, the tamper and it's holder. The instruction booklets are well written. It's a great investment.
