Impressive and sharp
Immediately impressed. Blade stock is not 3mm - more like 4.7mm at the base of the 9" long blade. Some heft is definitely present and much appreciated..Blade arrived very, very sharp. All of the bevels and angles done to shape the blade are done really well. Keep in mind that dropping this beauty from shoulder height could easily lose you a toe..I chose the red model because of the (more) pointy tip - hopeful that mine would be exactly that, and it is.The knife does balance nicely, and the handle has a good feel to it - not quite as "grippy" as it looks, but not slick either. I used some red hockey stick tape to improve the gripping surface, taking care to keep the wrap clear of the retention engagement surfaces. The scabbard is just as appealing as the pictures (the whole package is, really), but it isn't light of weight.. But it does feel sturdy and it fits the blade adequately. The built-in thumb ramp works well, and there is a reassuringly positive and secure snap into place. There is an annoying "speed bump" (to the blade tip) inside this kydex scabbard that requires some tricky navigation to perform a smooth resheathing - and that needs improvement with future versions of this knife.More of the flashing could have been rubbed away and removed (before boxing it up), but it's nothing that regular use won't smooth and wear away in time.Traditional Tanto knives were not always the popular 19" monsters that we are sold today - most were (historically) closer to about one foot in total length. Blades were often found at a traditional length of about 8 - 10 inches (from museum artifact displays), which ain't exactly small..There are no "country of origin" markings anywhere on this knife.. Okay..There are no markings that designate the grade of steel.. Mmm..Nothing to substantiate but the claims of an extremely adjustable and modifiable advertisement..Even with these significant details, I believe this knife is still worth the sale price that I have paid for it. But the regular price is a bit above what I would have given for (the equivalent of) a Cold Steel knife.Cold Steel holds an industry wide reputation for a reason, and customers have come to expect extensive (Joe-X) testing before they agree to pay anything close to (the very reasonable) Cold Steel prices.704Gear recommended this knife, and he was correct, this thing is impressive. I don't always agree with his assessment of knives, but he was right on the money about this beautiful beast..I will have to keep an eye out for more interesting stuff from Dragon Creek, because I really do like the build quality, balance and appearance of this knife.

Best Tanto on the internet of its kind hands down. Big heavy battle worthy strong scary blade.
I've waited years for somebody to make A really serious and well designed functional Battle worth Tanto.. everything I've seen far and wide is awkward and poorly balanced junk. This is the one, and the price is outstanding for the quality this is a great piece and I will likely buy more of these. Get yourself one now you will be stunned at the Quality. This is a big juicy heavy blade.
