My mechanical chime goes Ding Dong again! Works with Nest Hello!
First off, transformer worked out of the box after I installed it. I purchased this in April 2020. It's still working after a more than a week. (I was afraid that it would have issues reading other reviews, but this transformer seems to be performing perfectly. I will update this review if it breaks down, but if I don't, that means it's still running)Backstory:I was excited to install my Nest Hello doorbell camera. I even checked before I bought it, that my transformer was sufficient to power it. After I installed it, the doorbell worked! But something was wrong, I realized my Nutone mechanical chime wasn't working. Are the wires in the way of the mechanism? No. After research, I found out that my existing 16v 10a transformer was not enough to power my mechanical doorbell.Unofficial "fixes" included taking off the limiter (not recommended) or getting a 24V transformer. After searching for solutions, the consensus that the safest solution was to get a transformer with a higher VA rating. I originally wanted to purchase the Nutone 16v 30va transformer but it would take longer and shipping wasn't free (also a lot of the pictures showed dented transformers) so I bought this.Review:Cosmetically, it looked just like my old transformer just bigger. Wires were slightly thinner but still pretty solid. I've read about transformers getting too hot while in operation. This got warm but nothing out of the norm. I know looks isn't everything, but it is a factor for me.Functionality. It gets the job done. After installing it, time for the moment of truth. Pressed the doorbell and now it's a LOUD Ding! AND Dong! I've heard some solutions only get a Ding without the Dong. Before getting this I wasn't sure if installing the transformer is worth the hassle. I thought maybe I don't need the mechanical doorbell. After installing it, I'm glad I did.1. Mechanical doorbells are a nice physical real sound and not simulated electronic sound. Just sounds classy. It is distinguishable from other noises or sounds in the house.2. No delay. Once pressed the door bell rings and everyone in the house can hear it.3. The reason why the mechanical doorbell didn't work before is because there was a voltage drop, when the doorbell was pressed. I figured that can't be good for the doorbell camera in the long term. With a new transformer, I can have a peace of mind knowing there is proper voltage going to the doorbell camera. If you have a 16v 10va transformer, I highly recommend upgrading it to a 16v 30va transformer like this.

Works well and silent
Bought this to replace a doorbell transformer that was loudly humming. This one is completely silent, and worked well with my original Nest Doorbell camera.

Works for the Unifi G4
Worked properly for Unifi G4 Doorbell. Easy change out if installed "hanging" off the cover plate like mine was.

does the job
It’s good. I used to have a 10V 5amp transformer that was not powerful enough for a new video doorbell, so I got this instead.

Ease of instalation
Seemed pricy, but what isn't today. My instalation was putting the wired doorbell where no previous wire existed. Meaning: everything was newly installed. A surprising mounting option for the transformer made the job much easier. I was able to draw power from an existing electrical box by removing a knockout and feeding the load wires through and completing the transformer mounting by attaching the locking nut. This was not an easily accessed area. So the simplicity of the transformer instalation was greatly appreciated.

Loud humming noise
Cheap china junk. Installed less than a month and it emits a loud annoying hum. Vibrates so much, all the interior parts of chime vibrate

Good transformer for ring video doorbell
I originally installed a wired video doorbell to my home’s existing doorbell system which I later learned had a 16V 10VA transformer. I didn’t know much about transformers then. Initially it worked fine but after a couple months it burned out and it also burned out the door chime. I figured out how the wiring is routed and how the circuit works and determined that I would be better off with a 16V 30VA transformer connected directly to the video doorbell and to completely bypass the chime and add a wireless chime. I can say that this transformer works just fine. One question I had was that if my doorbell was originally set up with a 16V 10VA transformer, can I use a 16V 30VA transformer instead? The answer is that it’s actually better to upgrade to to the 16V 30VA variety which will not only work with an existing doorbell but it is better suited to work with video doorbells that require more power.
