MP4 video looks fantastic on my video projectors.
This player has video output modes to satisfy just about any consumer display. In my case, I am using the media player with my Hitachi video projector to show rear projected "holographic" Halloween images (spooky MP4 video files). My projector does not have a HDMI input but it supports CVBS (composite video) and RGB Video. So I'm using the player's 720P and 1040P YPbPr video modes (projector video input is set to RGB video mode). The video playback looks fantastic! An amplified speaker system is also plugged into the player to broadcast the medial file's audio. Adding audio required a second cable (not included).By the way, last Halloween I bought two of these medial players: YKS HDMI Digital Media Player,1080P Full-HD Ultra Portable Multi-function Media Player For USB Drives SD/SDHC Cards MKV/RM/USB HDD-HDMI CVBS YPbPr. They worked great on my projectors but are no longer sold by Amazon. This year I added another projector to our haunted house so I needed another low cost media player. Fortunately this new purchase is identical in every way except for some labeling. The low cost is another big plus for those on a tight budget like me.

Well worth the money!
This is my third different player. I had the seagate (lasted 14 months) and the Western Digital(lasted 11 months) and now this one. This one is at least 4 times cheaper(price wise), 4 times smaller and at least 10 times better in performance. I paid $31 for each and 17 months later they are still going strong. I am actually considering buying about 4 more just in case they stop making them and so I will have this product well into my retirement years. They seem to hang up on a video about every 4 months or so but all you have to do is turn it off unplug and ten seconds later plug it back in and it reboots itself back to operating like brand new. And we run this product probably 60 hours or more a week. (we usually fall asleep while watching our avi files and they just loop play all night).

Works great if you know it's limitations
Like most people who have been buying these lately, I picked this up to use as a cheap video player for my Atem Mini Switcher. More specifically, to play looping animated backgrounds with video keyed over in a box. I found some free animated backgrounds and looped them to be an hour long. The fist time I played these out, I noticed each video would freeze up and the player would stop responding after about 30 minutes. After doing a bit of research, I discovered the player does not like files over 4 gigs in size. The hour long videos I was playing out were about 8gb a piece. This has to do with Fat32 limitations. This player prefers cards/usb sticks to be formatted in either Fat32 or exFat. I'm using a 64gb sd card formatted in exFat. After playing around with settings in Adobe Media Encoder, and doing some playback tests, I was able to play my hour long background loops for the full hour without the player freezing up. They key is to make sure any file you plan on playing out of this to be under 4gb.

Decent at best, good and bad
Okay there's good and badThese get the job done to watch *MOST* video files off of a USB, the interface and controls are wonky and frustrating to get used to. They also do not save your place on any video file you are watching, so if you exit out to the main menu, you better hope you remember what spot you were at.There are also weird things that I can't really figure out why they are happening, when you play one video of a specific file type, let's say a .mkv file, it will play just fine and loads up quick, yet for some reason there are other videos that are of the same type (.mkv) that will cause the unit to just freeze and boot back to the main menu, Everytime you try to play the file it does this, I'm unsure what would be the cause as both file types are .mkv and of similar length. If you have a newer smart TV, the USB player built into it will probably be just fine, my TV is older and doesn't play some files. It's frustrating because I wish this device performed better.

Works Great
I needed a device that converts a USB video to HDMI for a Halloween Grave decoration.I tried other devices but they did not work right or at all.The AGPtEK Mini 1080P Full HD Digital Media Player did the job perfectly in both audio and video. The included remote is a bonus. The images are much better live than my old camera can in the photo above.

GREAT DEVICE FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES
Purchased to use as a device to play videos, PowerPoints, a marketing slide loop and video loop at various locations. Just connect the thumb drive and do it! Keep me from needing to drag a laptop around. Only thing is I wish it ran off usb power verses plug power.

Adapter and or power issues made me return this.
I have a WD Live TV which I love, but it's now discontinued it seems. So I want to find a substitute that I can use for travel instead of having to shuffle around my WD all the time. I bought one of these and have to say I was very disappointed. The physical design was just asking for scratches so I had to be extra careful when handling it or placing it down on a table. Once I figured out how to change the subtitle size (hint: the OSD button on the remote), I was happy. It played a 1080p H.264 file just fine, but the pressing issue was the power or adapter. Even when plugged in, it would not turn on. I tried multiple outlets. No luck. After a while, it turned on by itself. I watched a bit of a 480p H.264 file and it seemed all right. Maybe it was a fluke. Nah, the thing then powered down on its own. Upon turning it back on with the remote, the device kept turning off by itself. Had enough of this and returned it for a full refund. No wonder it was $30.99. Perhaps other units aren't as bad as this, but I don't care to test that theory.
