Best value around.
I can hardly believe the value I got here. This is a great little instrument, sounds and plays as good as one costing 3 times as much. Even the pickup sounds great through an amp. I am very pleased. Would recommend to anyone.

Dad loves it
My dad loves it! He played the banjo when he was younger (a firefighter and former marine) and it put the biggest smile on his face!

Snapped the neck on other one ordered this. Old one was in its rack and I hit it and it snapped the neck. Cheap ukulele but works for the two times a year I play it

Not For Beginners
UPDATE: I still stand by my statement that beginners should pass on this. BUT, this could be a fun instrument for intermediate and advanced players. It took me close to an hour to make the adjustments necessary for this instrument to be playable. Once I got all the strings off, the tuning peg for the A string was the only one that was loose. Once I opened it up, I noticed there was quite a bit of debris that was most likely accumulated from the machining process. That's a QC issue with the company that made the tuners although I feel that whomever assembled the instrument should have caught it and corrected. Overall, I think it's a decent buy for the price. Yes, I had to spend some time to make it playable, but now that it's set up properly, I'm happy with it. I will probably still replace the tuners somewhere down the road but once I had a look at the guts, it doesn't seem to be as urgent as I had originally thought. If it had come out of the box in this condition, I would have rated it a 4 or 5, but with the time I had to put into it, the broken strap button, and my initial disappointment from how it came out of the box, I have to give it a 3.First of all, this instrument is not for beginners. It's a beautiful instrument but it requires too much work out of the box for a beginner. Things went wrong right away. Loved the look of the strap and the material BUT it takes some work to get the buttons through the holes to the point where the brad on one of the buttons broke trying to get it through the hole. It actually made it possible to get it through the hole and then crimped it back in place with pliers. It seems to be holding well for now. You'll learn the value of stretching your strings with this instrument. It was impossible to tune out of the box. At first, I thought maybe the electronic tuner was junk but I tried it on my other ukes and double-checked the tuning with my Snark and the tuner that's included is above average. I sat the instrument down for a few seconds to go grab a capo and the A string broke(which seems to be a recurring theme). That's due to them not being strung properly by the manufacturer, they're wound too tight at the tuning peg. Upside to the A string breaking, it gave me a chance to check the tuning peg. The tuning pegs are junk. Kudos to you if you get one and can keep it in tune. The pegs are too loose and since they're closed, not easy to adjust. I plan to swap them out with a set of quality, open-gear pegs.I'm giving this a one-star so people will read the review but I would actually rate it 2 stars. As mentioned earlier, it is a beautiful instrument, has great sound, and the wood grain is gorgeous. With a little work and $10-$20 for better parts, I think I can turn it into a 4 star instrument. And the pickup that is included is a decent little pickup. If you're a beginner, this is not the instrument for you. Spend a little more money and get a Gold Tone Little Gem or a base level Oscar Schmitt. They're not that much more expensive but will be less hassle for you out of the box. If you decide to go ahead and give it a try, I recommend re-stringing it before you do anything else. Replace the tuners if needed and enjoy.

Fun little Ragtime and 20's Jazz Instrument
After looking through a lot of the different banjoleles in Amazon, I finally narrowed down my choice to these Kmise units due to their customer ratings and video uploads. Being on a budget, I went with the Beige finish since it was a little cheaper than the others in the line. When it arrived, the Amazon box had been crushed a little, so I was more than a little nervous about opening package, but the ukulele shipping box within was in perfect shape which put my mind at ease. Like with people, the outside doesn't matter; it's what's inside that counts.Had to loosen the strings quite a bit before the bridge could be set up. The included plastic ruler sped up the process immensely. My SX Tenor banjo didn't come with one so that took a few minutes setting it up. This one was nearly instant once the strings were loosened and the bridge placed correctly beneath them.I had to do a quick search for a youtube video to set up the strap since the ones I've previously used didn't come with the buttons on them. The little clip-on tuner is nice, but I think that I prefer the ukulele tuning app that I have on my phone a little more, but that's just me.Holds it's tune a little better than my tenor banjo; but then just about anything stays in tune longer than a banjo. Not sure why it needed a piezo pickup as banjos do not have an "inside voice." It was a nice addition, though. Thanks again to Kmise and Amazon for this wonderful little addition to my collection. Made for a delightful little birthday present to myself. =)
