曙産業Akebono 1 X Sando de Panda Japanese Sandwich Cutter

This is one of those products you buy on a whim, but end up super happy you have it. I have a school-aged kid who is happy to have pb&j sandwiches every day for lunch. So with this sandwich cutter, I make 2 weeks worth of sandwiches and stick them in the freezer. And every morning my kid will pop one in the luch box and it will be thawed out by lunch time. (Just like uncrustables, but better and cheaper). Just be sure to get JUMBO SLICED BREAD. And it should be very soft, too.

This is the cutest sammy cutter I use for lunches; quick and easy to use. However most bread is too small for it. Be careful with that.

My daughters school doesn’t allow peanuts but almond butter is ok. The commercial uncrustables are made with peanut butter so we have been making our own and freezing them! Love this! Doesn’t fit all slices of bread but you can push down, move it and push down again to get full closure.

I like the sandwich maker but ran into a few minor problems. First, you have to have the right size bread in order for it to work. I bought Bimbo large white bread thinking that because the loaf is square, it would work. Wrong! Then I bought Rainbow Large white bread and this seemed to work better but I think the bread should be a tad bit larger. Also, I had a problem over stuffing the ingredients. I've only tried making sandwiches twice so in time I will get better. Oh, and I did microwave the bread 10 seconds before making the sandwich because I saw that mentioned in a few other customer comments. That step does make the bread softer & moister and it seals better.

Sorry, I wouldn't buy this item again.

Item did eventually arrive, but a few weeks after the estimated delivery date and several days after the guaranteed refund date. If you order from this vendor, assume that he doesn’t necessarily keep a large stock on hand but may be “finding” items for you. If it gets you something you want or need, that’s fine; furthermore the price is more than reasonable. I sent the item as a gift and have had no complaints, so all in all I’m satisfied with the purchase. But be realistic about the shipping times, Amazon! You will not remain in business for long by making impossible guarantees.

Easy to use-press down the 2 pieces together and then cut the edges with even just a butter knife for a cleaner cut. The edges will be rounded and the sandwich is like a Crustable sandwich but fresher. I’ve used this cutter for several years and bought another one when it got lost. Daughter loves that her PB&J sandwich stays moister when using this.

Take a few sandwiches to get use to how to use it, how much to put in, how much pressure, etc., but works really well for me. I use the cutter one twice to really cut the crust out.
