Sturdy and very comfortable - Easy Assembly
I did a ridiculous amount of research on desk chairs. Reading and watching reviews and "best" lists; reading and watching critiques of those same reviews and best lists, etc., etc. I was undecided on options ranging from $100 - $1,500 given the inconsistency of opinion. I did a non-scientific "gestalt" gut-check and concluded that the Branch Ergonomic "felt" like it had the best substantive impressions on the factors that mattered most to me: quality of materials and comfort. The number and range of adjustments was not important to me, as long as I could fix a setting that was comfortable. So, I ordered the chair and hoped for the best (the free 30-day returns made it a low risk, but the idea of disassembling and repacking the components still encouraged careful selection!).I was very impressed with the quality, weight, and finish of all the components. The assembly process was straightforward and the instructions were clear and helpful. (As an aside, they are intentionally humorously written by a fluent English speaker--another review noting the "For Use By One Person!" conveyed to me the sometimes unfortunate clumsy translation on some instructions, but that was not at all the case.) The trickiest part is attaching the seatback to the seat mechanism--it must be done upside down with the seatback toward the floor. A helper would make it easy, but for one person finding a support for both components at the appropriate height took some searching around the house (a bed turned out to be the right height). In all, it was about a 30 minute project, being careful.Once assembled, the chair is excellent. The seat is nicely cushioned, but not too soft. The back is supportive and breathes well. Although it is personal preference, the blue color is very nice (and was well represented on the site. The chair feels stable and sturdy. It is much better than the standard workstation chairs at my office (which I am sure were much more expensive!). My only slight disappointment is that the arms slide forward and backward quite easily--I unintentionally extend them when moving about forward and backward in the chair.Overall, I think this is an excellent chair and a super value!

WONDERFUL chair for the price!
I have been working from home for a few years now (as a lot of us have) and have been using my office-store chair that I got for around the same price all along. It has been great, however it has started to get squeaky, uncomfortable (mesh seats are the worst, don't bother), and was just not the best made thing around. After some research online and asking friends in similar positions, I found this in my price range. I wanted to get something new over a used big-name chair as I want it to last a long time. I love that it isn't some no-name Chinese brand with no support, but rather a domestic company that offers real warranties backed by real people.MAN what an upgrade! The seat is super comfy, the fabric is really attractive, and the chair itself is sturdy where it counts. The base and core are all metal. All the adjustment levers are actually easy to operate which is a first for me. Usually they are so hard you never use them.I definitely recommend the optional headrest if you plan on reclining back in it. Makes a huge difference. I can actually fall asleep really easily in this chair. As for any negative reviews, here are my rebuttals to their points as a 5'11" 170lb man in his mid-thirties:• The lumbar support is totally adequate and sturdy in all positions I've tried it in. It feels supportive without being too hard or in the way. Personally it helps my posture a ton.• The build quality feels pretty good to me. Cheap chairs I have owned in the past have plastic wheel bases that break super easy. The wheels seem fine, and the fabric feels really good. No chemical smells or anything weird. The packaging used a TON of plastic film, which is annoying, but easily recyclable these days. Assembly was 5 bolts and took less than 10 minutes.• Adjustments and positions feel great for my average body. TBH, if you have a bad back and need an above-average chair, you need to shop around for your specific needs or get orthotic pads, don't fault the chair for your above-average requirements. I am average. This has average features designed for an average North American person. I like it!!Looking forward to many years of service from my new Branch chair!
