This was a replacement for an older model that I can’t find after a move. The dual beams give you a bigger area comparison and averaged together to give more accurate results. Personally I didn’t like the IR on as it is hard to know for sure exactly what you are on target of. Gun feels fairly solid and is lightweight. Not sure how it would hold up after a decent size drop. Trigger feel is good and temperature is reported fast. I don’t have a problem with the unit continuing to measure temperature after trigger was released like reported a few places online. Would be nice to have a storage bag but I guess for the price I can’t complain. I would buy again.

got here quickly and does a great job. I have used it to check the air temp coming out of my sons heating duct as he complained his room was cold. It did a great job of helping us figure things out. Accurate and fast.

I own several ThermoPro thermometers and was an extremely happy customer for many years. This led to the decision to purchase a TP450 through ThermoPro's Amazon store. I made sure not to deal with a third-party store. However, the TP450 is very disappointing. The housing feels very cheap and somewhat loose, unlike the other probes and handheld units I own. Moreover, I can just not figure out how to calibrate the thing to read somewhat accurate temperatures. The correct emissivity setting is unclear when taking a reading. If I was ThermoPro, I would have preprogrammed values similar to your meat thermometers. Who carries around the table all the time? Unfortunately, even with the supposedly correct emmissivity of the to be measured from surface, e.g. aluminium, the readouts are completely wrong. My suggestion is to not buy the TP450. Stick with ThermoPro's other working products.

I’ve used it for grilling, to check my refrigerator, my aquarium and my air conditioner. This item is accurate.and easy to use. And P.S. their customer service the best I’ve ever dealt with.
