This is a functional and well designed keyboard for a college student on a tight budget. My son uses his surface pro every single day. We found that using the surface pro significantly cuts down on the use of paper especially for a notetaking during lectures. We previously purchased a differentkeyboard within the same price range as this item. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to get this keyboard, and it’s definitely an upgrade. Given our previous experience, this is a better value. The previous keyboard was acceptable, but it had a few glitches. Sometimes there was a delay and it didn’t have the back lit keys,. This one has the backlit keys and has better Bluetooth connectivity because there’s no problems with delays. This was easy to set up and it’s easy to use. Keep in mind that this is a basic keyboard that isn’t going to have all the bells and whistles and perform as well as the name brand, but this significantly cheaper. So as long as you know that you aren’t I’m getting a fancy top-of-the-line keyboard and you have reasonable expectations, this is an excellent option.

I needed something to use to replace the keyboard for my Surface 7 pro since the outer layer "skin" was peeling. It was still seemingly working although it seemed like the mouse pad had a lag at times, so before it completely quit on me I set out looking for new one. There was one listed but the reviews were horrible. This one seemed to be better and so far I am satisfied with my purchase. One thing I have to get used to is this keyboard needs to be charged. So far from the first charge, I haven't needed to charge it again and it has been about 4 days so that's a relief but I would hate to be on the go and in the middle of working and my keyboard battery dies. I love that this has different backlight options. It has your basic red, green blue, it also has purple, yellow, teal, and what I'm sure is the standard white but looks more like a light blue which I don't mind. They all light up pretty nicely, with the ability to lighten or darken the setting of the backlight. You can also turn the backlight off if you choose to do so. The keyboard has instructions but some of it isn't helpful. Not just because it's in a different language but because it just doesn't give all of the needed information, however there are some prompts that come up on screen which help to guide you. The keyboard feels comfortable to use and my fingers glide over the buttons easily without having to revert back due to buttons sticking or just not typing for whatever reason. There were different color options and I choose the sapphire which seem more like an asphalt blue. I'm not a huge fan of the material used because I feel like this was also peel after a bit of usage but that seems to be how the majority of them are made in order for the keyboards to be lightweight so in comparison it's good quality as far is it being well put together and without defects. There are stickers that indicate what some lights are and as long as they remain on the keyboard you should be okay but if they were to ever peel off you may have trouble unless you write on the keyboard or put your own sticker. For the current price I think this is a good purchase since you do get a good value keyboard functioning in all of the ways needed and without any major issues. Most of the concerns or negatives are based on preference and convenience. If you are looking for a reasonably priced replacement and are okay with the above mentioned items then this is a good buy.

It took me awhile but I wanted to make sure I worked with this for a good amount of time. First off the magnetic action when the surface is placed on it is VERY FIRM. It almost snatches it out of your hand. It doesn't shake loose and folds seamlessly and securely.The bluetooth connecting process was easy enough. I have a Surface 3 to help me with graphing out the crochet patterns I create which can be complicated at times. Since it's on one of the older models, I was afraid I might have problems connecting but it was pretty seamless. The wifi connection doesn't drop which was a concern of mine, however it's a bit delayed at times even though I'm very close to my Google Fiber router. It's kinda noticeable when I'm typing since I type 70 wpm so there was a bit of a lag but I can work with it.It's lightweight enough not to be cumbersome. It's width is designed to only add 1/2 inch to either side of the Surface when closed which is a nice overlap. The keys are covered by the Surface when it's placed on top of it face down. I really like that since it makes it just like a tablet.I really like it and highly recommend it.
