another great watch from Seiko.
I have the kinetic version of this watch for near 20 yrs before it died, dived with it wore it everywhere and it was banged up after all that time- the best watch in the ever ever and a sad day for me. The current kinetic version is near a grands so out of my price range, The Kinetic watch accuracy was legendary-- 3-4 seconds gain in 3 monthsPros: for this watch:1 Great looking, nice size and much lighter in wt than my previous Kinetic version2. Hands easy to see, maybe not so much the second hand.3. Bezel movement is tight as it should be4. Charges in light???? see cons...5. Wonderful accuracy-- checking against the atomic clock at National Bureau of Standards this watch has gained 2 seconds in a month- far surpassing the accuracy of many very high end "chronograph" watches sold today. And why have a watch if you really don't know what time it truly is??? Update: After 3 months the accuracy is still spot on.Cons;1 Not many but one is its bracelet. I love the metal bracelet,, its design and functionality BUT in having it adjusted to size at a jewelry shop ( I lack the proper tools) they had trouble getting the pin to stay in once reassembled. It did for 4 days then fell out again. We ended up super-gluing it back into place and so far so good. But there is a flaw in the way the pins interact with the bracelet-- as I said I Iove the way it looks and fastens but will it hold? Update- the bracelet continues to be the problem and tho super glue seems to work it there is something wrong with the design that makes this a problem. I have considered getting another brand bracelet.2. The charging system, questions more than anything...seems neat to have it charge under house lights but reading the charge chart not so fast.. 9 hrs in direct sunlight for a full charge?? Not practical and with the low LUX of normal house light it may take several hours for a charge lasting one day. Obviously if you are out mowing the lawn or gardening or whatever outside it will charge but in the winter that ain't happening. So time will tell, The solar cell is very small and every chance to expose it to light needs to be taken advantage of-- we will see maybe I am over concerned but time will tell.Keep up the innovative and good work Seiko.PS 5 months later: Watch gains 2 seconds per month which is extremely accurate and beats most high price "chronograph" watches.

Nice watch BUT
This is a nice watch and it is great for someone with a small wrist. I own the pair to this with the Pepsi bezel which is 42.5 mm as opposed to this which is 38.5 mm. I would have liked a smaller watch than the 42.5mm but this one is a bit too small. I guess my sweet spot is about 40 mm.Compared to the Pepsi bezel, this watch is lacking for me. It was really hard to screw down, just did not have enough turns. The red line to see the watch was totally screwed down is missing - was not made with it. Also, the second hand is not colored and no dot to see even under water, the watch is running. No 15 minute colored time on the bezel. The face of this watch is a nice blue but reflective, which means when light hits it, it will play tricks with your eye and telling time is that much harder though on this watch telling time pretty easy. The larger watch has a dark grey background which does not reflect the light. The watch band on both are identical. I do not find any problems with it, works just fine. These Seiko watches work really well, can wear them anywhere, and really easy to tell time on them. The Pepsi bezel one (the larger size), in my opinion even if it is a little larger a much better value and esthetically much more pleasing and of course more fun than the single mono color scheme. I would recommend to check out the larger watch with the Pepsi bezel if you can wear the size. I really recommend the larger watch.

Excellent value
It's the best value for a watch out there. After much research, I found this watch to have all the needed features. The build and finish quality is excellent-equivalent to watches that cost many times more than this one, and at 38mm, the case size was more comfortable . After having used the watch for several weeks, I expected the timekeeping to be accurate but was blown away when the difference from a time standard was only a second. The solar power feature is a major plus since my previous watch (Tag Heuer) needed a battery every other year. I highly recommend this Seiko to anyone who needs a watch for work and wants to wear something fashionable.

Impressive
Beautiful, elegant. The 38.5 size is perfect. I’m a 6’ guy with an athletic light build. If I wanted a watch for diving, I think I’d opt for the 41-42 mm size. I just wanted a simple unique great looking no maintenance quality watch that I would never get bored of. This Seiko model fits the bill. For what it’s worth, I actually like the stainless watch band. Since I’m a do-it-yourself person I ordered the watch kit on Amazon made by BYNiiUR for $18. (BTW: Great Kit). I’m not the fastest tortoise in the race, but now I have a fine timepiece to wear and a short tale I can tell if I’m asked, What time is it?

Wonderful Seiko
Good price , retails for around $495. The item arrived in original packaging and has been great. I researched the watch quite a bit and settled in the green. It does look black in most light but a beautiful green in full sun. The like the heft and feel of the watch. I took the watch to a local jeweler to have the band fitted. It took them about 5 minutes total since they had all the tools and expertise to do it quickly. The and came with all the links , she removed a total of 4 and fine tuned the sizing with the micro adjustments on the clasp. The Seiko solar diver is an amazing watch.
