another great watch from Seiko.
I have the kinetic version of this watch for near 20 yrs before it died, dived with it wore it everywhere and it was banged up after all that time- the best watch in the ever ever and a sad day for me. The current kinetic version is near a grands so out of my price range, The Kinetic watch accuracy was legendary-- 3-4 seconds gain in 3 monthsPros: for this watch:1 Great looking, nice size and much lighter in wt than my previous Kinetic version2. Hands easy to see, maybe not so much the second hand.3. Bezel movement is tight as it should be4. Charges in light???? see cons...5. Wonderful accuracy-- checking against the atomic clock at National Bureau of Standards this watch has gained 2 seconds in a month- far surpassing the accuracy of many very high end "chronograph" watches sold today. And why have a watch if you really don't know what time it truly is??? Update: After 3 months the accuracy is still spot on.Cons;1 Not many but one is its bracelet. I love the metal bracelet,, its design and functionality BUT in having it adjusted to size at a jewelry shop ( I lack the proper tools) they had trouble getting the pin to stay in once reassembled. It did for 4 days then fell out again. We ended up super-gluing it back into place and so far so good. But there is a flaw in the way the pins interact with the bracelet-- as I said I Iove the way it looks and fastens but will it hold? Update- the bracelet continues to be the problem and tho super glue seems to work it there is something wrong with the design that makes this a problem. I have considered getting another brand bracelet.2. The charging system, questions more than anything...seems neat to have it charge under house lights but reading the charge chart not so fast.. 9 hrs in direct sunlight for a full charge?? Not practical and with the low LUX of normal house light it may take several hours for a charge lasting one day. Obviously if you are out mowing the lawn or gardening or whatever outside it will charge but in the winter that ain't happening. So time will tell, The solar cell is very small and every chance to expose it to light needs to be taken advantage of-- we will see maybe I am over concerned but time will tell.Keep up the innovative and good work Seiko.PS 5 months later: Watch gains 2 seconds per month which is extremely accurate and beats most high price "chronograph" watches.

Great Solar Seiko
Great looking watch, one of 5 Seiko's I own. I do like the Solar aspect and leave both my Solar Seiko's on the window sill and never lose time on it. I'm not a metal band guy anymore, so I had a leather band put on yesterday and love the look!

Just what I was looking for
I have already had compliments on the watch. It is gorgeous. I won't be using for diving but I will be using it for waterfowl hunting in the marsh, dog training in the water and anything else that comes up. I wanted a Solar watch, green, which is my favorite color, and a Seiko. This one checked all the boxes.

Seiko PADI diving watch
So far this is great watch. Very accurate. I left it underneath a daylight bulb overnight to give it a good charge. My first impression was that it might be a fake Seiko. The box had some bumps. The inside of the box where the watch sits is not very well made. The warranty card was not filled out by the seller. The winder was unscrewed from the crown tube, which is slightly crooked and has some damage to the threads. I guess you could say it was a poor presentation given the price of the watch. So it lost one star. I also purchased a matching color silicone rubber strap which is very comfortable and removes some of the weight from your wrist. Now that I am wearing the watch it is comfortable and on close examination seems legitimate. I might have a watchmaker examine the crown tube and make sure it is not compromised.

Excellent value
It's the best value for a watch out there. After much research, I found this watch to have all the needed features. The build and finish quality is excellent-equivalent to watches that cost many times more than this one, and at 38mm, the case size was more comfortable . After having used the watch for several weeks, I expected the timekeeping to be accurate but was blown away when the difference from a time standard was only a second. The solar power feature is a major plus since my previous watch (Tag Heuer) needed a battery every other year. I highly recommend this Seiko to anyone who needs a watch for work and wants to wear something fashionable.

A Perfect Smaller Diver
I wanted a new diver watch as my current one was going in the shop. With the trend towards large face watches many times the smaller models lack features. At only 38.5mm, this beautiful, easy to read forrest green faced Seiko SNE583 checks all the right boxes; hi-grade 316L stainless case and band with clasp, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, screw-on case back, date, rated for 660’ and scuba. Being a solar watch the battery will last 7-10 years so the case will retain its factory seal and remain watertight. Don’t worry about having to keep it in the sun constantly either. Fully charged it has a 10 month power reserve. The clasp is just right and it fits even smaller wrists perfectly showing all the quality that Seiko is known for. An excellent low price diver.

Love the case, but the bracelet ruins it
The watch itself is beautiful, the perfect size without being too big. But what ruins this is if you are a DIYer and decide to adjust the links yourself based on the size of your wrist. The pin and collar system to keep the links together is God awful. I lost some collars trying to adjust the bracelet size to my wrist and it is impossible to try and find a replacement without paying an arm and a leg so I am probably going to resort to changing to a leather strap which somewhat defeats the purpose of this watch and is probably not dressy enough.
