Item doesn’t work waste of money I will return and hope for a refund

This review is for the VGA to HDMI Adapter with Audio, La Brodée (PC VGA Source Output to TV/Monitor with HDMI Connector), 1080P VGA to HDMI Adapter Male to Female Cable for Computer, Desktop, Laptop, PC, Monitor, HDTV£14.99 at the time of review.You get a VGA to HDMI adapter (it is NOT bi-directional, i.e. it doesn’t convert an HDMI signal to a VGA signal), a micro USB charging lead and a 3.5mm audio jack lead: no instructions but it is pretty straightforward to use and you do need to connect the USB lead otherwise the adapter won’t work. Make sure you use a powered socket as not all are.The only extra you would need is a male to male HDMI lead and you’re good to go.I got a clear and stable picture with everything plugged in and got a maximum (and normal) resolution of 1920 x 1080 for this type of connector. The extension is pretty small and compact and the fly lead doesn’t take up a lot of room either so it can be tucked discretely behind your device.I did notice that the HDMI box became quite warm to the touch after some time. Not hot enough to worry about perhaps, but I haven’t noticed this with adapters which have the HDMI lead built into them. I also got some weird resolution options after starting and restarting my computer many times. The resolution was set at 1920 x 1080 but the picture didn’t fill the screen. I was also offered resolutions much higher than this but when I tried for 1920 x 1200 (which my monitor can support), it steadfastly refused to increase the resolution nor did it fill the screen. A restart returned everything back to normal with 1920 x 1080 and full screen picture.The adapter box heats up, I think this is pretty expensive for this sort of adapter and you need an extra HDMI lead from around £5 upwards which raises the overall cost. You can buy VGA to HDMI converters with included leads priced from less than this to a little more than this, so I don’t think this adapter is that great value for money. For these reasons then 3 stars from me and I would advise shopping around and looking for alternative solutions. It is small and doesn’t take up a lot of room and you can buy and run the length of HDMI cable you need, but that is about as best as it offers.

This will only work from an HDMI source TO VGA screen. It's not bidirectional so make sure you get the right cable.This is a very niche Cable but does the job exceptionally well. The price point is fair. Thank you.
