Q: Is the scent decent or overpowering?

The scent is indeed very decent and not overpowering at all. I can't stand overpowering smells at all. I love this spray period. I won't use anything else.

Q: I ordered this hairspray because it said it is pthalate-free. My bottle only says “free from parabens and synthetic dyes” does it have pthalates?

On the bottle that I am selling, it says in the front of the bottle : Free of Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates & Synthetic Color. I cannot speak of the bottle you have, but this is what my bottle says. Hope this was helpful.

Q: Can this hairspray be used on dry hair with heat tools, as a true working spray?

Yes! It was recommended by my hair stylist and I bought it specifically for that purpose. It is a great product.
