I don't have the rm raw wood cleaner. is there a substitute i can use prior to my rm/plus 2c application?

I will just use mineral spirts in the future, this is very pricey and I saw no difference between them

It depends on how heavily you apply it and the type of wood you have. But when the wood looks dry it is ready for the color coat.
