The media could not be loaded. As a way to get into the world of fiber lasers, this is a great learning tool. It's only a 2w laser, so don't expect to do much more than etch metals. There's not enough power here to engrave metals. If this fits your bill and your budget, then you will be impressed by the precision and accuracy of the laser itself. The software isn't the best, and unfortunately you can't use other software like Lightburn. However, the software that it does come with is easy enough to use for most basic functions. Overall, a solid entry point fiber laser at a very reasonable price.

Assembly was easy. Setup was easy. Software is ok, as I am used to Lightburn. I upgraded my Lightburn to use the Genmitsu Z5-1, but actually prefer the included software on this fiber laser. I can’t get a dark color on aluminum, but the etching so far is very detailed. I can’t afford a $10k fiber, so this is great until I get more advanced. The quality build is best I’ve seen of a laser. Extremely happy!

I tried to contact seller. They didn't get back to me. There is also a problem with software fonts. I used the product according to intructions for use, but i didn't get any results. Big disappointment. I'm waiting for the seller to contact me.

I recently purchased the Genmitsu Z5-1 Fiber Laser laser, and while the hardware seems to function well and delivers decent results, the software is a major letdown. It's incredibly difficult to navigate and not user-friendly at all. This made the overall experience frustrating. If you're considering this laser, be prepared to spend extra time learning how to use the software effectively. If Lightburn was available for this laser I think the experience would have been better.

I just received this laser today. I've had a Genmitsu diodes laser in the past and the build quality was second to none. The Z5-1 is no acception! First impressions is the Fit and finish is great and it's very stable on either base. I've done 11 engravings so far with a few repeat jobs so I will give you the pros and cons for engraving metal (I'm a knife make so engraving my makers mark will be this machines primary purpose)Pros:as me tions, it's very well built. It looks and feels like a machine worth twice what I paid for.The repeatability is great and very accurateThe software is easy enough to use. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out the basics and get goingThe three different modes are nice for different applicationsEverything you need to start engraving is included except a PCIt can run very quick. I make a custom aluminum business card in about 75 secondsMotorized Z axis is awesome and the up and down are touch sensitive.Cons:The fan always runs weather the laser is actively engraving or notThe fan is quite loudThe work area is fairly small. Not a problem for me but may be an issue for some. Not sure if reversing the head on the base would increase the real estate of the work area or not.So far the only software you can use is the included software. Which seems to be pretty good but it's something I'll have to get familiar with. Hopefully they will make it lightburn and GRBL compatibleI wish the usb A-C cable for the unit was coiled like a telephone cord (that's what the diode laser had so having one for this would have been a nice touch)The focal lasers are a couple inches apart from the main laser so smaller workpieces will need to be moved from focusing to work positions.I will update this review after a few months or should anything change. This is an amazing product. I was blown away comparing it to my x20 diode laser. High detail fast etching. Im not able to get it to etch wood just yet if capable. But great product.Things id love to see improvement on this or next model.External controller to connect to a phone app.Mac supportAbility to use battery pack with a sd card or memory to make it just a little more handheld .Easy improvement would be a perameter table with all different types of materials. Its be great to have a picture of expected result and what settings to choose. The manual has some but its limited.Id love the etch range to be 100x100 vs 70x70The software is where this seems to fall off big time but its better than the competetors by having it translated and mostly working as ive had it crash a few times.Lastly a grid should be etched on the cutplate so we know exactly where it can and cant etch.Pipe dream. A camera built in so you can timelapse and do augmented reality in the app so you can line up etching 100% and the ability to replace fans with wuieter ones. Its not too loud but its noticeable makingbit modular would be game changing.

This machine feels and looks like good quality. It is very easy to use. The software is also easy to use. I have seen a lot of reviews saying the software is difficult to use. This is not true. If you are smart, It is very easy to use and set up.Pro tip: Take the lens cap off. It is the same color as the machine and will not laser engrave anything if you leave it on .

I only had it for one day SO I CAN SAY IT WORKS AND I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH IT I'LL HAVE TO WAIT A DAY OR TWO TO GIVE A FULL REVIEW ON THIS I LIKE IT AND IT SEEMS TO DO WHAT THEY CLAIM
