The Best
Flexcut makes the best carving knives money can buy. Handles are very comfortable for extended carving sessions. The knives are seriously sharp and stay sharp. It is easy to maintain the edge with the flexcut strop compound and a good leather strop.

Very well made
Ive used Beaver Craft for a few years since I started carving and finally tried Flex Cut. Really nice tools. Sharp right out of the pack. I feel like the handles on the knives are a bit fat but they can be easily reshaped to my your liking. The blades are thinner than BC blades. Feel like the thickness lends to a bit easier cut.

I bought Flexcut Beginner Palm & Knife Set, All-Purpose Cutting Knife and Detail Knife Included, with 2 Palm Tools (KN600) based on reviews in the carving world.Pros:• Carving sharp out of the box!• Hold an edge well• Knife handles are ergonomic and comfortableCons:• The two palm tools are not very comfortable for extended use.• Palm tools are relatively thin compared to other brands.For beginners through professionals. Sharp carving knives

Serious tool. Needs maintenance, of course.
These were amazing right out of the package, but naturally needed to be stropped within about 30-40 minutes. That's pretty good, considering what I was carving with them. They're very good for what they're intended for. I advise to consider that they're an excellent value, and will last forever when taken care of, so maybe not a good choice for a starter set to abuse while learning. That's up to you though. They take a very fine edge, and hold it as long as can be expected. Even after carving for hours, the mirror finish was still there. Keep the edge aligned, and they probably won't need to be sharpened ever again.
