Specs were impressive.Some have been bothered that it does not include Cat5e cables. For me that was a benefit because my office was already prewired. So bundled cables were unneeded, and unwanted cost, and would have inevitably been the wrong lengths.I was a bit surprised that the NVR is as large as it is, not that that is a problem. It’s nice that I didn’t need a separate PoE switch but can cable the cameras directly into the NVR.I’ve unboxed everything but not yet connected it and turned it on. I will do that on a tabletop before installing cameras in awkward locations.

liked the system but it stopped working just a little over a year after buying and setting up at my business did not buy the protection plan so now I have to buy another system. this time I bought the protection plan .

I Received the GW7816N and a separate POE switch instead of the GW7816NP NVR listed on the website. The NP version has the POE switch built into the NVR.

Great system. The customer service is also very good, I had a question and it was answered quickly.

I've had nothing but problems since I purchased my GW Security NVR and IP cameras. Even their developers in China haven't been able to resolve the issues. The system randomly stops recording surveillance video. The unit erroneously reports video loss several times a day when the cameras as fully operational--verified by accessing the cameras directly. Extracted video from the NVR cannot be played using standard PC or Mac software. I encountered this problem when I submitted my security camera video to an insurance company. I have spent dozens of hours with their tech support and was they never resolved these problems.
