Good choice over PCDuino1 or 2
Works great. I own a PcDuino1, 2 & now a three. The 3 is much faster 7 the case while only being a top & bottom protector, does work & does not get in the way.

don't buy pcDuino3
1. On the pcDuino3...don't waste your money. Wait for the Raspberry Pi 2.I wanted something adruino-ish, but without needing my desktop to program it. This looked like a perfect board.Problem is that it is sloooow! Chrome takes forever to load. Everything else slows down whe you are browsing or running apt-get. Python, Java support is meger GPIO high/low. Arduinoish IDE doesn't support all Arduino libraries like time or ethernet. The case is cheapo 2 acrylic sheets. The top sheet holes don't line up for screwing down. You just kind of keep it there and it keeps wobbling.Again 1 star for performance... I feel totally ripped off by this seller.

Not one of my better buying decisions.
First off, the case is worse than useless. Nothing is included to affix the board to the case so it just sort of flops around in there and will even fall out of the case if you carry it wrong. This is actually handy, as the slots and holes in the case aren't cut large enough to allow cables to be used through them. There's no allowance on the bottom of the case for the connectors on the bottom of the PcDuino3 board, so of course the board just rests on those connectors against the plexiglass of the case just like it would on, oh I dunno, your work table. The board sits unevenly. I think this is to prepare you for the way the PcDuino3 itself is put together. That being, poorly. The GPIO pins don't line up properly, the silkscreen lettering on the board is just bad. It's ugly.My unit booted. No problem there. As for this unit being useful as both a Linux PC and a microcontroller, I have my doubts. Tech support? Visit http://www.pcduino.com/ and see if you can find it. Good luck. Also read the forums. These units obviously don't cost a lot, but when you can buy an actual mini ITX fan-less computer for $10 more and have 6 or 8 times the processing power, that cost suddenly seems a bit higher than it should be. Why did I buy one? I'm still trying to figure that out. I also bought a Beaglebone Black a Netduino a bunch of Arduinos. Just something I'm into right now I guess. Of all those purchases, the PcDuino3 comes in dead last in build quality. That's saying a lot when it's competing against sub $2 Arduino Nano knock-offs.I spent a lot of time complaining about the case for a reason. It's ridiculous. Did anyone try putting the case together and seeing how the PcDuino3 fit in it before selling this package? What if you bought a desktop computer case with a barebones kit that fit like that? You'd raise hell. That's what. All that said, I'm not going to return this thing. It does boot up. Would I buy another? Nope. No way.
