My ride or die
I got my first sakura pencil from a math kit and started using it in my second to last year of high school. I am now graduating college and it has been the only pencil I've used. I use it everyday for both general purposes and drawing. The design is simple, yet so reliable. I've had the original pencil for 6 years and it's finally time for it to retire (I have a pen clicking habit, so the mechanism has finally worn down). I am not lying when I say I will die for this pencil; Sakura's amazing quality has earned them my undying loyalty 🫡

Best pencil
I've been using this pencil for...8 years now almost? The same one for 8 years and I only had to buy a new one because I accidentally bent the clip too much otherwise it's still perfect. By far the best feel on a pencil and I'm speaking as an artist. I almost use strictly this pencil for my sketchbook pieces. It'll last you ages if you take care to not lose it and it's the most worthwhile pencil no doubt.

My new go-with-me-everywhere pencil
Who carries a pencil around anymore? I do. There are hundreds of mechanical pencils available. A long time ago, in an art school far away, I learned an important lesson: don't trust someone else's review when it comes to writing and art supplies. You need to try things out for yourself. Lots of my favorite materials are things that were panned by other artists. That said, I like this pencil. It feels well-made, it writes well, the mechanism that advances and holds the lead works flawlessly, and it is quite lightweight, although it's just hefty enough to feel good in my hand. It has a slender profile (thinner than a typical ballpoint point), which if I was the designer, I would make the barrel a tiny bit thicker. But that's nit-picking. I've used a few different pencils, and this one has become the one I carry with me every day.

Good Pencil but Has Room For Improvement
I bought this because I'm the type of person who would rather have something nice to write with rather than a million cheap, plastic, uncomfortable mechanical pencils. This one fits the bill for most of what I want it for, but it still actually could be better. For example, the metal that this mechanical pencil is made with is NOT the cheapest metal available, but it's so light that it actually gives a feeling that it's less valuable than it actually than is. I feel like charging an extra 3-4 dollars per pencil and making it out of heavier (or maybe even just thicker) would give it a feeling of higher quality, (take the Parker Jotter for example.) In any case, this mechanical pencil is more durable than most people need it to be, and it's not something that I'll get rid of for a long time, so it serves the purpose I bought it for.

Very good
This Sakura is comparable to the Pentel sharp line like p 205 207 and 209. One big difference this led sleeve is cushioned to prevent breakage. I think that is a nice feature.

My absolute favorite pencil
Love these pencils and buy them quiet often (I draw in a lot of different locations and like to always have one available) very lightweight and comfortable. Holds graphite great. the 0.5-mm gives a very tight and precise line, but is soft enough to get your dark thicker lines wear you need them. Only knock I would give them is the clamp for the replaceable erasers. This piece wedges into the end of the pencil and holds in the non-active graphite. I have had a few pencils where the clamp becomes a bit loose and falls out. And they are easy to lose at that point. I also tend to get rid of the metal cover for the eraser, as its a pain to keep removing every time you need the eraser (which I do...a LOT). Once you've lost the cap & the eraser, you're in a tough spot as the pencil will no longer hold non-active graphite. If you avoid that issue, you will love this pencil!
