It is just nylon I have been using it to help my Mom get positioned in her bed. It is a godsend for me. She doesn’t seem to have any adverse effects on her skin from it. Hope this helps

Yes…leave it under the patient but I place pads on top 🔝 fit to me rote thanks it as well as not having it directly on the patient’s skin

Q: Is the product thin and flexible to slip under a patient on the bed? When we want to move the patient up, does it slide with the patient?

The bed pad is thin & flexible enough to remain under the patient, and it slides very nicely when repositioning the patient. Sometimes, we place a folded cotton sheet over pad for comfort, and it is still easy to use sturdy handles to move patient. I purchased this to reposition a family member with Parkinson's, and it has been worth every penny!!

Q: How do you keep it from slipping all the way up the bed when boosting a person up in bed

I had the person in bed hold on to the side handles as I pulled on the top handles. Actually, I used it mostly while she was in a queen size bed to go sideways in the bed before rolling onto her side. Something to watch out for: if you are pulling this out from underneath someone, notice that it has hemmed edges that can actually cut the skin. After that happened once, we were careful to coordinate that last slow pull out from underneath her. You might want to instead roll the pad up and then pull it out the other side.
