I'm learning as fast as I can to understand the challenges and pitfalls of project management. This book is fun to read and full of examples of what to be aware of with project management. His stories are insightful and educational. His style of writing is fun and useful. I recommend this book to anyone who want to hear real life stories about projects. It's relevant to any kind of project management, not just construction.

This is a fantastic book to get a realistic and detailed idea of construction management. It seems like it would be useful to people with experience, and it is very accessible to people like me that want to learn more about the field.

It’s a good book

A practical and really helpful guide to navigating the myriad of things to think about when managing a construction project. I found that referring to this book was like having my own mentor on tap. Excellent.

Informative for beginners

This is a must read for all Construction Project Managers. Although many of the points raised in the book seem to be general knowledge and commonsense my experience (in common with that of the author) is that it is the failure of construction managers to follow these simple steps that often causes projects to fail.The book is mainly written from the contractors point of view and the author has clearly set out and explained the many facets that contribute to successful construction projects. The use of case studies brings to life what would otherwise have been a very dry subject.Construction Project Managers often get caught up in the complexity of the project forgetting the many of the basics steps that are required to ensure a low conflict and successful project. This book is a very good reminder of how to turn the theoretical knowledge into practice and I believe that even experienced construction managers will benefit from it.I highly recommend this book be read by all newly qualified construction project managers as well as those more experienced.
