Enhancing Architectural Drawings and Models with Photoshop

Not for Photoshop CS6
Although it does have a lot of information, if you have Photoshop CS6 the file import etc doesn't work. I emailed Mr. Onstott and told him that the directions didn't work as written in the book for CS6. He did respond quickly and I was told to do the same thing as the book said. I emailed again telling him that there were no option in my program that were in his Photoshop 5. I never heard back after that.I was able to figure out how to do it, but it takes a lot longer as you have to do it one file at a time and then group them. I'm still early in the book, but I think it will be worth it in the end. Buy used if you can:-)

basic understanding
I like this book. Like many, I taught myself how to use autocad, revit and photoshop for school and work. Therefore I maybe proficient in doing certain things, I lack in using these programs in other ways. So I got this book, in order to improve my rendering skills in photoshop and to gain another perspective on this subject.Unlike the other comments, I would not say this book is only for beginners only. Although I wish there was more advance tutorials and maybe more explanation...or help in using LISP program for exporting png layering files.

Great if you have CS5
I would have given it 5 stars if I had had CS 5 instead of CS6. With CS 6 it was downright frustrating! But I blame my woes more on Adobe for moving things around and making things disappear.Aside from that major problem, I recognise and will give full credit to the author for the very detailed steps he has set out. I knew very little about Photoshop but after just a few days and a few chapters, a little world has been opened up to me. No regrets buying this book at all.

Disappointed about the quality
I couldn't get why a book about visualisation can be that much poor quality paper. It doesn't match the goal. Since it's about enhancing the quality of images, rendering, architectural visualisation, it definitly had to be in color. I'm disappointed. 8 pages in color only!Next time I buy something, I will double check every little detail.

Excellent Book!!!
I was so happily surprised by how good this book was as I went through the projects. It is concise, thorough and never boring. My only nit picky complaint is with the publisher: they used very poor quality paper on this. Why they did that, I can't imagineas it is the best I've read on enhancing one's CAD programs. And it is up to speed with the latest CS5.

I was hoping for more but....
I was looking for help making renderings look better using Photoshop. That is not what you get with this book so I returned it.
