The SKLZ Hurricane Swing Trainer has been a fantastic addition to our backyard practice setup. Both of my kids (one baseball, one softball) love using it to work on their swing timing, power, and consistency. It’s well-made, easy to set up, and the high-visibility target ball makes it easy for them to focus. It is pretty heavy. I really like the adjustable tension bands and rotating arm — it allows them to get a lot of reps without needing a pitcher or a tee. It’s helped them build confidence and muscle memory. The only thing to note: while the base is sturdy, there is a metal crossbar for the ball. Because we don’t want to risk damaging their expensive bats, we’ve been using an older bat just to be safe. It hasn’t been an issue, but it’s something to be mindful of, especially for younger or less experienced players in case they miss hit or over extend. Overall, this is a solid, effective training tool that we highly recommend to other baseball and softball families!

My daughter’s 8U softball team use to use the ball that was attached to the end of a stick and had to be held by someone. I wanted something more autonomous so, I decided to give this one a try. I am so glad that I did. The apparatus is very solid and sturdy and it has to be because of the constant pounding that it takes. I have found that kids want to crush the ball. It was something different for them and they all want to get a turn. I am surprised at how easy the apparatus is to set up. It takes me about 3 minutes to set up and 2 minutes to break down. The resistance can be adjusted by adding 1 of 3 elastic bands. They are also very easy to add and take away. My daughter’s batting did improve after being introduced to the apparatus. The apparatus is pretty mobile, but I will admit that it is a bit awkward to carry and does not do well in wagons. It can be transported in a wagon, but I would recommend hand carrying it because it is awkward and top heavy, making the wagon susceptible to tipping over. Some minor issues that I had with the apparatus is that the carry bag is not very durable and tore after just traveling with the trainer just once. It still holds the trainer and is usable though. Also, if you set up the trainer incorrectly, the resistance bands can get caught on the trainer arm’s tension knob. That is easily fixed by reversing the side that the knob is on. It took me a while to figure that out. The apparatus fits comfortably in its bag and is easily stored flat on the ground or a shelf. It does not take up much space. This is a nice training tool for all skill levels. It is very easy to set up and breakdown. It could use a better carrying bag though. I highly recommend this product.

Finally, a simple to use batting trainer tool. The trainer is very easy to assemble and disassemble as needed. My son has used the batting trainer in the driveway and the backyard using weights to hold the machine in place or supplied ground pegs. The batting machine provides immediate feedback as to hitting mechanics. Better swings result in more dramatic revolution of the ball rod. A home plate is also included so one can work on inside and outside parts of the plate. The instructions that came with the unit left a bit to be desired but it was fairly easy to assemble looking at a picture of the assembled unit on the box. The three tension bungee cords ensure that the unit does not get tangled up. In fact it has never gotten tangeled--I certainly could not say that for the hit-a-way that I used to string up to a pole. The weight of the unit is both a plus and a minus. A plus in that it is a very sturdy unit that does not move if properly secured even after repeated (50-75+) swings. It is a bit of a negative in terms of portability. That is why we use it in the driveway and backyard. I was thinking of bringing it out to my team's little league practice but wouldn't do so unless I had an SUV. Overall I am convinced that this is the best batting training machine, for the price, on the market today. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Great youth trainer to keep them swinging

Bought for 7 yr old son’s first year in coach pitch. Way better than tee ball stand. He goes in the yard almost every day and swings for 20 mins or so. First four practices of the season and he’s hitting anything close. I even bring it to practice for the other kids to get warm. Heavy, but fairly easy to travel in the back of an SUV without breaking the whole thing down. Moms and Dads like to use it too. Highly recommend the investment. Quality item and built to last! UPDATE: A year and a half of use and this beast is still rocking steady. I keep it in the garage in the winter but Texas Spring thru Fall it's in the backyard getting hammered daily. No structural issues whatsoever. I do suggest removing the resistance bands as they get stretched out, but you can tie knots in the end to tighten. My now 9 yr old (7 when purchased) is unbiasedly one of the best hitters in his league. My youngest, now 6, is really starting to refine his swing and reaching the outfield consistently. We still hit off the tee plenty, but having the instant feedback and independence of just you and the Hurricane is invaluable for young hitters. Really gives them confidence. If it's in your budget, go for it!

This is such a good product to improve the batting speed and strength of your bat you can practice a lot of cricket shots without needed to modify the position of the ball, has a lot of durability and is very strong. I wish I could rate this more. 5/5 stars would recommend for cricket practice!

I coach U9 softball and this has been a game changer for my team. We’ve only had it for a few practices, but the girls development and coordination has improved tremendously. They’re catching on so fast - I wish I had bought this sooner. This hitting trainer is great. It is very durable and heavy. Everything is made well and strong. This will last!!!! Even with 9 year olds beating the heck out of it. Lol I’ve included pictures of the set up process. It is really slick and easy. I had it put together in under 10 minutes. Tear down was even faster. Plus everything fits in a nice black zippered bag - which is heavy when filled but doesn’t feel like it will rip easily. This is definitely worth the money!!

Got this for my daughter to practice batting. We don't have much space to practice so this works perfectly in our small yard. Very easy to take down and set up but very heavy to carry back and forth to ball diamonds. Recommend a portable wagon if you plan to transport any distance.
