Maker's Mark: My Autobiography

When this book arrived, as soon as I took it from the box, I started to read it. It was something I had wanted to know and the firsthand story made it all the more interesting. I know why somethings at this distillery are what they are, as it was explained and certainly made perfect sense. It was also filled with wonderful pictures that delighted the senses, while I read the story. It was fact filled and I am going to share this with some others that have a love for what this little maker of fine distilled spirits produces. Makers Mark, now is even more special, since I know the history behind what goes into each bottle.

Bought this for my cousin's husband for Christmas present guess you wanted to learn about how to Whiskey and it's maker

This is a really well done autobiography of the son of the founder of Makers Mark. His family originally made TW Samuels whisky but sold that business. Bill is an old college friend so I can relate to this book very well. I knew his parents and can tell you that the content of his auto. is accurate. I think anyone can enjoy the way in which Bill presents the history of Makers Mark and his part in making the brand so successful over the last 30+ years. Bill is a true original in marketing the Makers Mark product/brand.

This book is a slim high quality book decribing with many images the history and philosophy of Makers Mark as well as making it. Bill Jr. guides through the book giving a clear picture about the destillery. Personally I like this Bourbon and have been interested how this is made and what persons stand behind. Sadly enough family Samuels as sold with the Beam desillery to a japanese company. A heritage is no longer in local ownership.

I gave this as a gift to a Whiskey lover and he was ecstatic. Beautifully printed pages and informative read.

The book itself is wonderful so far (I've not finished reading it), the photos are eye catching and wonderfully detailed. I was a little concerned with the shipping, a tracker sticker was affixed to the cover and no safeguards for the book. Luckily, I was able to remove the sticker and all residue with minimal effort.

This book was like taking a fun little tour of Maker's Mark. I actually did take a tour there in 2000 and have a small bottle I hand dipped to prove it! It was a very good tour then. Few people around and we got to see it all. So I saw this book and had to have it. Pretty good through the history of the company and Bourbon. Would have liked a few more pictures of the actual place itself; the big barns and barrels, the ladies dipping the bottles in wax, etc. Overall this is a good book about an excellent Bourbon.

Beautiful and fantastic book. I am very happy about it. Everything in one, history of the brand, great old photos and many more. Suprise for me was an autograph of the author.
