Just what the doctor ordered
This grip extender makes the tiny EOS RP much more comfortable to hold. Quite expensive for what it is, but it is necessary if you (like me) have big hands. I bought it refurbished/renewed to save a few $. It is just a piece of plastic that screws on to the bottom of your camera to give your pinkie a place to hold. No more, no less. Oh and 1 negative thing, there is no place to hold the battery door that you have to remove (same as a battery grip) to install the extender. Don't lose it!PS. It WILL fit the new EOS R8. I tried it at my local camera shop!

Great for people with large hands
Purchased a new Canon mirrorless camera and was used to having a battery grip on my old DSLR. No battery grips available yet for the Canon I purchased so I decided to try this. Definitely made handling of the camera easier since I have larger hands. Expensive, but worth it if you want to feel more secure while shooting.

A bit on the pricey side but definitely essential for users with larger hands
Being someone who has slightly larger hands than normal, shooting with the RP was kind of annoying since my pinky was always hanging off the side.I looked into the few different grip extension options and ultimately decided on this one since it was the only option offered by Canon themselves. The build quality is top notch and feels great in hand. I’m also really digging the blue accent color. So is it worth $80? To be honest, it depends on your situation. To me it made shooting with the RP a whole lot more enjoyable and that alone was worth it.

Great extension for cameras, but price should be lowered.
I have used my Canon EOS RP and I got to say my pinky wasn't probably placed so I decided to get this extension grip. I'm not sure if this applies to all digital cameras, but their battery door covers can be detached which then allows the extension grip to fit in. The part of the grip with the "open" lever is were your new battery door cover would be. ^_^Only thing I don't like about this extension grip in general is how pricey it can be.

Expensive but wonderful
Great item but overpriced big time. But it’s something that you may feel that you have to have it. It’s awesome but overpriced. If it was metal I would understand, but it’s plastic. However it’s a must have for most of us so that’s why it’s $79

What I really needed to make my camera comfortable.
Fit the Canon RP just fine, easy on, easy off. Does not prevent tight attachment to tri or unipods, looks like part of the camera, designed for easy battery removal, most important of all is that now it fits in my hand firmly.

Great way to get a better grip
Perfect attachment to give the camera house a bit more heft. When I have. Bigger lens on the RP this extension is really needed. Looks good too

Offers full grip to your Canon EOS RP
My first reaction to buying this was - Oh C'mon... $80 bucks?I still sorta feel that way, but it is what it is. Frankly I feel $40 would have been on point. But I don't market products to customers so what do I know.In any event - if you have big hands, and you want a full grip feeling to your Canon RP. Then just get it.My hands are... normal I guess. But without this add-on, my pinky slips under the camera. To be honest, I can live with that. But given this option - the camera feels more like my old 5D vs my old T2i. I've rented the EOS R and this makes it feel like that for that most part. Offers a solid grip. One thing to know is that if you plan on taking it on and off frequently - you may want to rethink that.See, I figured there'd be times I just want to take a little weight off the payload and just keep the grip in my bag. But ... to install this add-on, you need to remove the battery door from the camera. So unless you don't mind having to replace the door every time you want to take this thing off - you'd better just plan on keeping this thing attached full time. I do fear that I'll misplace or lose my battery door. Hell, I can't even remember where it is as I write this. One more thought on this - last week I wanted to take the plate off for a short while to put this on a video gimbal. I figured I wanted it to be lighter and I'd just take this off and shoot without the battery door on. Well, the camera knows when there's no battery door and will not let you use it. I mean - why would you anyway? heck - Why did I ? But I bring it up because I didn't expect that to happen. I don't fault Canon for that - in fact, nice feature. But just passing along this little bit of info. The build in door on this grip is pretty cool though. Feels like you're closing a mini-vault. And it has a little locking mechanism that offers peace of mind that your battery door won't just pop open due to the typical flimsy door clip. The grip screws on with a nice finger gripping screw at the bottom of the device. It works great. However, one thing I've encountered is that if you keep a tripod plate on your camera (as I do), if you put any pressure on the plate itself, you may start to loosen the grip. It's not been a big issue, but I have had to tighten things up from time to time.Overall I'm glad I have it. I'm over the $80 I spent, and love how it makes the camera feel.I wanted the red one, but it was out of stock so I settled for blue. But it's grown on me. Whatever color you get - red, blue, or black - it'll look nice on your camera.
